IBAN not being accepted?

Hey guys,

Long story short, I'm filling out a form for a grant for college and it's asking for my IBAN which I take to be my bank account number? I filled it in and it's giving me the message "Only Republic of Ireland Bank Accounts Are Accepted". I'm with AIB and my account number is 8 digits long which I assume all are? Am I missing something?

Sorry if this is the wrong section, didn't know where else to post.

IBAN is an international bank account number, it will comprise of account number, sort code, country code and other bank codes. Check with your bank as to what your IBAN is. It may be on your statement or online banking.

Can I see my BIC and IBAN online?

Yes you can view your BIC and IBAN through AIB Internet Banking. To do this Click 'Manage My Accounts' on the left of the screen.

Click the 'My Accounts' tab at the top of the page.

Click on the account you would like to view. You IBAN and BIC will appear at the top of your transactions list.
