I just opened my account at the bank and got a handwritten card with my NSC and account number.

The NSC was typed like XX-XX-/X
and my account number was typed XXXXX/XX - what does the / mean?

    Hi georgbhm,

Thanks for getting in contact with us and welcome to Boards.ie and indeed Bank of Ireland.

Upon opening of your new account you should be supplied with a 6 digit sort code and an 8 digit bank account number. Apologies that these were not provided to you on this occasion.

If you contact your branch a representative will be happy to provide you with your account number.

As sort codes are generic to each specific branch, you can locate this information here on our website.

We hope this helps and if we can assist you with anything else here, please don't hesitate to post again.

    Thanks,
    Elaine
