avensis 05 /07 2.0 diesel which one?

    looking for peoples opionin ...which is the better model ...older 05 or newer facelift model that i think came out in 06 which had the indicators on the wing mirrors i think.....thanks for any advice

    The facelift model is nicer and has a nicer engine too.

    06+ also got must-haves like a folding rear seat across the range

    Do the 06 on diesel version suffer from head gasket problems.I know the 2.2 engine had a few faults.
    The 06 on have timing chain and start with near 130bhp for the 2.0diesel.

    The 2.0 engine is generally reliable.

    Steer clear of the 2.2.

    Its the 2.2 that gives trouble.

    Problem With the 125bhp engine as with all D-4Ds except the 00-03 Avensis is that it has no low down grunt, but can move once you work it hard enough.

    Sounds like it could do with a remap.Moast of the newer ones have a 6 speed box.It could do with low down pull .
    How did the 00-03 get away with it colm as they are only 110bhp.
