Can't afford to be keeping the lights on all night now.

    How do I know - I'm asleep

Light off and curtains and blinds closed. I couldn't sleep any other way.

Like, a bedside lamp or something? The idea of sleeping with a 100 watt bulb beaming down on me sounds like the craziest thing in the world.

I sleep with the lights off and a pillow over my head.

Just a small nightlight in the hall so I won't trip over the cats things.

Light off. There has to be ZERO light anywhere in the room, not even light coming in through the keyhole.

Unless I'm really tired, in which case easily I could fall asleep in the middle of the St Patricks Day parade.

But if I'm in the house on my own and I hear a noise in the middle of the night - light on!

I can never decide so I just bought a strobe light instead.

After living in a town for a couple of years now I've gotten used to having a bit of light and find total darkness a bit unsettling now.

Btw, when I saw the thread title I assumed it was gonna be about having sex, and I was going to say always on! I don't get why people turn the light off.

    Ahem.

Sorry, back to your sleeping talk...

Honestly, how do you sleep with any sort of light? I can't even take naps in the daytime.

What's the difference between light and hard?

You can go to sleep with a light on!

    I'll get me coat...

    Not Your Ornery Onager

I like those airline masks - with a couple of 4mm holes so I can see out when/if necessary.

If no mask available then use sock.
If clean sock goto sleep else leg part closest to nose.

Last resort: Wax on, wax off. Then please FO.

Light off, but it's never really that dark in a town. We used to go to my MIL's house in rural Linconshire and that was true dark at night with no street lights. That was great. :)

Was this intentionally written as sudo code?

How is this even a question.

    OFF.

Exactly. I'm not 8 anymore. Wouldn't be able to go asleep with any bit of light in the room.
