Just wondering from say leaving Rathmines by car at 8am approx.

Would an hour be sufficient time to get to the airport by 9am in rush hour traffic going out of the city on the m50?

Just wondering what this commute is like from someone who might be doing it on a daily basis for work etc?

I can join the motorway via templeogue or via the naas road at the red cow.

Can also go through town and out by drumcondra but I'm sure traffic would be crazy going that way.

From Rathmines, even in traffic, I doubt you'd have anything to gain by using the M50. You'd have a much higher petrol usage and the toll on top of it.

I'd be tempted to leave at 700 or even 730am, leisurely drive to the airport through town and have breakfast there.

I don't mind the toll or the diesel just wondering what would be the best option traffic wise?

Just wondering if an hour is sufficent at that time of the morning for what is usually a 25-30 min spin for us.

At 9am this morning there was a blockage on Dorset Street heading towards Drumcondra that was causing delays. If you're just going to pick somebody up, I'd say chance town because it's half the distance of the M50; if you're trying to catch a flight, why deal with the chance of being late and the stress if you're stuck in traffic.
