Big name brands/things that don't really advertise themselves anymore

On the main TV channels at least some brands it would seem no longer feel the need to advertise anymore. Bisto and Pedigree Chum come to mind.

Are they both just happy with having a big market share and no longer feel they need to advertise or have they pushed all their budget into online ads and I'm just not seeing them.

What are some of the big name brands/things that don't really advertise themselves anymore?

They usually do full page print ads that then go viral. Very good ones too.

    Do Levi's still advertise?

Had some of the most memorable ads in the past.

I think Bisto is more of a seasonal thing, so they'll probably start advertising soon for Autumn/Winter. Showing my age now but I used to love the old OXO ads with Linda Bellingham.

When I was growing up (80s - 90s) people always said Levi's never go out fashion. But they kinda did. Maybe they are laying low and will return with a new ad campaign to blow us all away.

Lee, Lee Cooper & Wrangler are pretty much finished. Only Garth Brooks fans would wear 'em.

    Heinz and Batchelors baked beans.
Aldi's cheaper beans are far nicer.

Ya, and double the price of a decent enough pair from H&M etc. I think if they make better fitting jeans and had a good advertising campaign they could be massive again. But Wrangler? Forget it, cowboy.

Levi's are far too expensive for what they are now. The quality just isn't there anymore and they're more expensive now than they've ever been. There was a time when a pair of Levi's got better the longer you had them, I used to get years out of mine, then the quality went down hill and I stopped buying them.

I remember once my brother came back from a holiday with new jeans - they were called Elvis, had the red tag and everything. Made me laugh anyway!

    Oxo cubes, Bird's Custard…
Almost all major appliance brands. You hardly ever see ads for washing machines, dishwashers, dryers etc etc

Back in the olden days Hoover, Zanussi & Ariston were always telling you about their latest breakthrough in water sloshing technology.

All those products that were aimed at farmers, like fertiliser, feeds & stuff to prevent mastitis or tail-rot..

Never see them on the telly anymore.

Companies probably don't want to spend money of TV advertising now that people record shows and skip the ads.

The likes of pedigree chum is trying to go direct to dog owners advertising and supporting things like dog shows. Another thing papers are doing is switching to editorials, so instead of paying for a traditional ad you're paying for a "news story" about your company.

People are too good at ignoring advertising these days, probably rightly so, it's all misdirection and nobody trusts it anymore, even the people paying big money for for ads. The price of advertising in Ireland can be ridiculous high too compared to the UK.

The internet allows direct advertising but you can just turn off advertising on the internet using an ad blocker so you left with having customers find you and they tend to find you on recommendations or word of mouth. This isn't going to suit multinationals because they usually make a lot of shyte products that people wouldn't recommend.

You never see ad's aimed at farmers any more.

Machinery, livestock medicines and fertilizers are a few examples off the top of my head that used be advertised on the telly a good few years back.
