Am I correct in thinking that

A ginnit has a father who is a donkey and a mother who is a horse
A mule has a father who is a horse and a mother who is a donkey

    What if you're a horse's ass of a donkey?

Are you the child of a ginnit or a mule bred with a horse?

A hinny/jennet is the offspring of a horse stallion and a jenny donkey.
A mule is the product of a jack donkey and a horse mare.

    Both are sterile.

Which one has a cross on their back? A ginnit?

As far as I can recall, a donkey has. Yet so does a dun/buckskin horse. So either may pick up on the trait.

'Zebra stripes' on their legs are also seen in some cases.

No, my father said it's the ginnit. It has a white cross on its back.

A donkey doesn't have a cross on its back.

That's one of the fairy tales about it.

Hehehe! I got in trouble at school many years ago over the cross on the donkey's back!!! Was drawing a picture of the Holy family's flight into Egypt and asked the teacher if the donkey should have a cross seeing as how this was before Jesus rode into Jerusalem. Got an awful ear bending with such a "stupid" question, but I never got an answer:D:D:D:D:D
