    all,

Nissan quashqai wont start up occasionally and last night wouldnt start at all.

Various friends have said that it was a problem with the starter. It is being collected by breakdown assist tomorrow morning and being brought to a garage so i just wanted ball park figures of what it costs to replace or repair a starter

Might not be the starter. Had a similar problem with my qashqai, turned key, got ignition lights but would not crank over nor start on a push. I initially thought starter too but turned out to be the engine earth cable had corroded and snapped which meant engine including starter had no ground and stoped it starting. Might not be your issue but I know this is common on qashqais.

The engine earth is a heavy black cable on the lhs of engine between engine and
    body. Mine is a petrol.

Hope this is of some help

Twenty euro for a new cable and some elbow grease had her back purrin':D

Very simple job - two bolts and a small ratchet is all that you need.
