After spending the last 25 mins driving around harolds cross looking for a parking space, I'm never renting a place without off street parking, feel sorry for the residents.

What would I expect to pay for a set of front brake pads there not something I've bought before. The discs are still in great condition with next to no wear. What brands should I be looking at ? I might just get vw ones as at least I know they'll be right and they seem to last well.

A set of mintex pads are between 30-40 so that x two I think and they would be decent brand I think.

What time is that on at? Would save me a drive to Cork as it's only 20 minutes from me!

Saw a truckers wedding earlier. Coolest thing ever. Must have been about 50 shiney scanias in convoy with head exploding horns sounding.

Ha! Reading the local news today and stumbled across this!

    This was it!

Might take a spin up if it's still going after three way.

I was there two years ago and it went on till about 4 or 5. Although the weather was terrible that day so that might have had something to do with it. Was going to head down to it this year but no one else seems to have been doing so, so I gave it a miss.

i find it amazing that still in this day and age of NDLS, CPC and so on available online that we still cannot

Order a new driving licence online if one becomes stolen or missing

check the dates and amount of penalty points online.

they are the two things id like to see on either the RSA or NDLS website

i mean the RSA have it set so theres a driver portal for me so i can check the status of my CPC , what modules i have done and when i need to do the next one etc. these two items should be a can of piss for them to just upload online using driver number and personal info.

    Hey GvidoR :)

I kept forgetting to post the bulbs to you, so I was at a wedding in Sligo and on the way home I thought "god damn I have the bulbs with me" :D

So as you leave carrick-on-shannon on the N4, heading east, outside the speed signs and across from a house there is a layby...
There is a gate in there and towards the centre of it your bulbs are hidden there :pac:

I thought it would be funny

I'm after seeing a few new Mini Cooper SD's. Surly that's defeating the whole purpose of a cooper s if it's a diesel. My parents may need to get an extra car in September depending on whether my father is working here or abroad. Have my mother talked around to getting a cooper s 05-06. 170bhp imagine they would be a bit of fun. Ahe seems to really like them. Anyone ever driven one?

I'd try and get the 07 on R56 if possible. I think these ones are a lot more easy to live with on a daily basis... I have an r56 at the moment and it is a hoot to drive. Not the most reliable car going but it's fine if looked after! I've driven a few of the supercharged R53 ones and while they are good fun they seems noisier, more rattley and you have to hoon it to get the power out...which is grand for a back road blast but gets a bit annoying for long journeys!

Hope you've got your timing chain changed and inlet valves cleaned :D

Don't you have the same engine in the pug??? :P
Mines on 85000 miles on the original chain, I know I'm pushing my luck at this stage so it's going in for a chain swap and to get an oil filter gasket changes this week as it happens!!
I'm in two minds whether to get my inlet cleaned or suck it up and swicth to the LCI head from the 09 model to solve the problem instead of resetting the problem you know? Not sure how much this will set me back yet though...

    Question:
What is your opinion on those cars?

    1. 2005 BMW 730d (facelift)
    2. 2005 BMW 535d Touring
    3. 2007 Volvo S80 2.5T SE LUX

//edit: Considering getting one of those around March :) 730d will be a comfortable cruiser, but the 535d will be a nice little rocket. The S80 is the newest, but is the most expensive to run :(
It was going to be a Porsche Boxster 2.5 or a BMW 330ci vert, but I can't get insured on either of those :(
