Damp-Proof Old Concrete Floor

OK , got an old poured concrete floor that could probably do with coming up and being redone properly but thats not possible for me atm so I want to try and seal it with a damp proof substance . I saw this online but I can't seem to find a stockist around me

AQUA-STOP – is a one coat, deep penetrating cementitious material which waterproofs old or new, structurally sound, poured concrete walls or floors. It is highly resistant to positive or negative hydrostatic pressure to 200 psi, which equates to 460’ (140m) deep in the ground. The product reacts with the lime in concrete and the resulting chemical reaction fills and seals the pores so that the concrete cannot absorb water. It continues to move deeper and deeper into the concrete over time and becomes part of the concrete itself – it does not have to be reapplied and will last for the life of the structure.

So my question is , does anyone know of a stockist of the above or a similar product that would/should be stocked locally . I live in Limerick if thats any help .

try that place Johnston chemicals on the the naas road. I might have the name wrong . but search here for a damp proof post by me for more details. I'm on the phone here but they will sort you out

Are you going to be covering the floor with anything? If you were you could use a product called blanke aqua shield which is available from most good tile shops.

Generally concrete floors can be sealed with a good quality epoxy DPM. One coat is generally enough, but if the floor is very damp, with a high reading on a moisture meter, two coats may be necessary. Google 'Strongcoat DPM', that is the type of material you need. There are a few others on the market.
