Back in the day, I would always see men stick their hands in the backside of their gf whenever I went to the shopping mall.
    Now I never see it.

    So...you came back from America?

Paying for minutes and texts on mobile phone bills.

In fact if the likes of Google and Facebook manage to get their own way I would say most telecommunications companies could be gone in 10 years

Anything that really flaunted its Americanness?

America used to be fierce cool when I was little, all the cool things would be all American and they'd be using their Americanness to get you to want them and you would want them because America was crazy cool. I don't see things selling themselves as being "American Style" as much anymore or nothing.
Someone wearing a shirt that's all based on the american flag or whatever generally looks super lame.

This could all be in my head though, I thought America was the be all and end all of coolness ...possibly still do.:o

Yes, holding their butt I suppose, why else would a hand be there?, but what you mentioned is a whole new level.

I was just seeking clarity, thought I slept through a whole new interesting phase there for awhile or something. Would have been unfortunate to miss that :p

Plenty of them around though the current fashion does seem to be RS4 badges and stupid bodykits on all the diesel ones.

Usually driven by a scobe, 56mm from your rear bumper.

    Bootcut jeans

Nah, they'll be back - it's the current vogue for skinny jeans that will be derided in years to come.

Aren't most jeans 'boot cut'? Unless you specifically buy skinny jeans they are all reasonably wide around the ankle.

The Eminem inspired blonde hair dye. You'd still see the odd plonker at a GAA match rocking it. Bonus points for an eye brow piercing.

I think loads of 'adults' will be hoping that FB becomes extinct!
Yeah when their children start searching the Archives and see all the moronic stuff they use to put up online for all to see!

    Minidisc players.

They were never popular enough to be a trend, and they were also completely awesome, so nothing to snigger at there. I still have a deck and two portable players (not that I'm using them them)

    So, eh, you're double wrong.

    Mullets
Tracksuits - now only scumbags wear them.
    Combats
Wearing shoes to go out on the town
    Mass and religion
    Cheques

    Willy warmers.

Mullets are still extant, and very popular.

Tracksuits are worn by athletes, amateur and professional alike.

Combats will never go out of fashion for some societal subsets.

Mass and religion are as popular as they've ever been, worldwide, if not here.

And cheques are still a necessity for anyone who uses money in any sense beyond collecting social welfare.

I miss the rock music back patches you could put on your denim jacket. They were great.
    Doc Martins
The army jackets with the removable lining.
