    Hi all

I cant seem to get the bonnet open on my car.
Its a 08 VW Passat TSI.

Im pulling the lever on the inside of the car and the bonnet clips open. However, when I put my hand underneath to press the handle up, it works but the bonnet still doesnt lift up.

Any suggestions? I have no water in tank and its a pain for the windscreen.

    Thanks in advance.

have a second person keep upward pressure on the bonnet as if he/she is trying to lift the bonnet as you pull the handle on the inside ,

The exact same thing happened to my daughter's 08 Passat TSI......I sprayed "WD40" into the safety latch assembly, left it for 15 minutes or so and then it operated, a little reluctantly, at first. Once you get the bonnet opened, operate the latch several times to free it up, you will also be able to see it better and spray another drop of lubricant into it.
