Any info on your age, physical build and experience with golf?

From what I've witnessed, Wilson clubs in the starter range (ie the ones you can pickup in sports shops) come with horrendous whippy shafts. A regular in our fourball doesn't like spending money on golf, but funny enough LOVEs golf. He bought a set of Wilsons for decent enough money, and imo they are total ****e. The shafts are stupidly whippy and considering his swing speed they are totally incompatible.

Wht sort of budget did you have in mind? Are you looking for something to knock about with friends, or thinking of playing the game regularly?

Depends on the finances, but that looks like a lot kit for €100.
Have you tried the local professional yet? A bit of advice from him on what to chose having seen your swing might be a better option. Shouldn't cost a whole pile, €30 or €40 my guess.

If like me you're worried about what a pro may think of your swing starting out, it's the best time for him to see it before you compound any bad habits.

    Those sets seem decent.
Valid point that Doc makes but if you're just trying to figure out if you like golf then they are grand. They won't lose much value and you can always upgrade in a few months and get a similar price to wait you paid for them.

The second Wilson set will hold the value better just because of the visual appeal over the older ones and personally would be my choice.

I had a starter set of Wilson 1200 irons and woods and I hit the irons again the other day (younger brother is using them) and found them grand. I wouldn't say they're overly soft, the other brother had a set of Rocketbladez and they were, to me, extremely wippy for a regular. MY old wilsons were nice enough to hit aswell if a bit chunky and lacking in the feel department.
