Played in a competition with a guy yesterday who used the Happy Gilmore swing with every drive, he only missed 2 fairways.

Found this video with Padraig Harrington, he gained an average of 30 yards doing it, would any of you put it into play on course in a competition?

That was on the 10th on the practice round for the Long Drive, even Harrington wouldn't put that swing in play with a card in his pocket.

Not exactly a Happy Gilmore swing, but an interesting swing for people to practice is shown in the following youtube video at around 3 minutes

 Seriously? and in a competition?
Was this his usual swing or was he just trying it out for a while.

This is me in my mid-teens. Having a ropey game and just for the laugh on 17 gave it a try. We all did. Ball finished a few inches from the hole and tap in birdie :)

The club had this on the website for a good while, until "complaints" from the membership had it removed, and a few people got really scorpy with me over it...

He said he tried it a few times on the range a few years ago and got good results, he's been using it on the course now for 3 years, he's a 9 handicapper, the funny part is he actually has a great swing but I guess it works for him.
