Game Storage Ideas for your retro room

Well lads, haven't posted here in a while.

I bought two of these from ebay:

As I am relegated to the box room for my retro needs, storage is always an issue. I think these clear plastic "shoe" pockets are a cool way to store game controllers. I am going to have everything from my Atari 2600 joysticks to ps4 controllers in these soon.

Any of ye guys got some more storage ideas :pac:

I use both the FSFS, or the Flat Surface Filing System, meaning things get piled on available flat surfaces.
I am also a devout lover of piling and stacking.
I probably need a better storage solution myself....

As mentioned on a similar thread, the Ikea 'Benno' dvd towers are very good, 2m tall but only 20cm wide, so you fit alot in a small space.

Hey CiDeRmAn, you should see a picture of my "CD collection" stacked up. (gosh, you could nearly call CD's retro at this stage) Still to this day, no matter how steamed I am I still can manage to pull out my Aqua album from the bottom of the pile, without the whole lot come tumbling down:)

Yeah, I seen these cubes in IKEA, very nice, but im my little room, floor\wall space is very limited. in my next house \ room I would love to have a complete game collection stored in these shelves from wall to wall.

just be aware you'd probably need a van of some sort, the planks are in one solid 2m long piece, so you won't fit that in a car too easy.

I was wondering if they'd fit into a Honda civic alright :P

You could always stick them out the window and joust with other cars ...

Or the approach that's least likely to get you arrested for recreating a medieval tournament: stick them out the sun roof (if you have one). Just make sure someone holds them, because if the wind catches them they're someone else's retro storage solution.

Well lads, the "gamepad storage" arrived the other day, I must say not two shabby at all...I have spent 6 quid on worse :-)

Its only a pity the larger stuff dont fit into the pockets, i.e, N64, Dreamcast, Atari 2600's oh well....

I had the most awesome game storage facility for my 'compact' collection.

I will try and grab something like it when I once again have my own game room. It had a hole for a decent sized CRT TV, 8 places for consoles and game storage but it was small enough to be able to put an LCD on top for modern consoles without having to put a crick in my neck.
