According to DGT that yoke was either in a front end smash or went back in time with the grills/bumper.

I may drop in like a pin in a bin.....

Either the above, or it's a pre 94 job regged in 96. Baffled as to why

Clues are the obvious non TU grille, old style mirrors, it has the non vanos engine. One has to ask, with the amount of 95 525i sport models I've seen over the years with the correct front, why this one is a 96 with an older front?

White ain't nice on these, diamond schwartz with orange indicators and a good numberplate surround is the way to go..... No bias atall :D

I'd love turbines for mine

Apparently has a Multi fiction steering wheel......

Nothing like a bit of fictional steering to jazz things up.

On the bright side. It was a 132 ambulance and was kinda cool.

Ah no sure the alloys and tyres arent worth feck all !

Just looking there at it another one, it was a merc. Which would explain the bumpy ride !

Why am I getting a quote of up near €100 to ship 4 alloys & tyres from Yorkshire?
What would ye say the weight of four 16" alloys and tyres is?

Some rain falling now in kilkenny anyway. Was dropping a friend home there who lives a bit out of the city centre. The floods on the roads. The turanzas t001s performed well even if floored no wheel spin and great grip when braking. They do apparently wear a lot quicker than the older er300s. But only time will tell on that one. Also on the way a rabbit jumped out on front of the car. Managed to slow down but then it just kept running in front of the car almost blocking me. Managed to pass it though eventually.

    I'm awake.

What might be a wasps nest suddenly coming to life in my bedroom will do that..... a ****ing half dozen of the buggers droning over my head while I dozed.

when i was asking people on donedeal about sending alloys via courier(within the republic) most were saying about 60 euro.

At a guess I'd say approx 10kg each.

Deposit paid on my first car yesterday, 2006 Ford Focus 1.6 NT Zetec 3 door! :D It's only just passed 100,000km too!

Then I came home, rang the insurance company, for some reason the quote came back €400 cheaper than the day before haha! :pac:

    • Desert bus

Incredible rain on M50 southern end just a short time ago.
Lots of standing water, most traffic down to 60-70kph lights on and leaving braking distance. Most.. But not all!

Also just saw a new S8 in Blanchard's town, 4.0 V8T €130,320 On the road.

That was absolutely insane, the spray from the car in front was like a powerhouse on the windscreen.

I went down to it. Some mad looking cars there. I'll stick up some pics soon if no one else has.

so i've to replace 2 of my tyres soon. Originally my car had 185/65/14 on it. I got alloys and they had 215/40/16 on it.

I've been looking at this tyre size calculator

    http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator/185-65R14/195-50R16/215-40R16/205-45R16/215-45R16

I always felt the car seemed a little low geared at motorway speeds so am thinking I'll go marginally larger than the original tyres. So was thinking of going 195/50/16.

    Any other size suggestions?

Have a ford b max rental in Germany, with the 1.0 ecoboost engine. The car is okay I guess, engine makes a good noise! Would love a fiesta or similar with a high power version of it. Would be savage craic!

Interesting popup message when you view that site,
    **Warning!**

When changing tire sizes, we recommend staying within 3% of the diameter of the original tire. Any more than this and you face the risk of brake failure.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,855 ✭✭✭nd

My guess is if you put a significantly larger total diameter tyre than original on your car, the tyres then basically have more leverage when braking and stress your brakes more.

The ones on yours are too low profile. Correct size is 195/60/15 or 195/55/16

It's official. New ignition coils are on the cards. They'll have to wait until the end of the month, however, when I get paid. Along with brake pads.

Oh the joys of car ownership.

    Try Rotary FX -

The ones they sell are the exact ones you need. May aswell get a set of plugs (same ones made by NGK just without the expensive Mazda branding) while you're at it!

Was actually going for the RotaryRevs upgrade kit, which uses LS-1 coils imported from the States since the stock Mazda coils are notorious. The plugs I have in it are fresh enough so they should be fine for a while.

You can tell it's getting a weak spark on cold starts, because it's smothering in fuel. But it starts fine and happy when hot.
