    Hi,
I want to open up the fire opening to take a free standing stove. Chimney breast is big, opening small...
Is there much involved in it? Does the stove installed do this? Any one in limerick area recommended ?

Is it an old stone house or a newer block house? If it's block, it could be a 9 inch block on the flat, if it is, it depends on how much has to come off either side, is the opening tall enough for the stove ?

Block on flat. I would be hoping to widen it an make it a bit taller but unsure about the structural side.

It can be done, but it's a job for a very competent tradesman, especially when you want to heighten the ope as well, if it's lentils that are their it will be easier, but if it's a flu gatherer it makes the job a little more awkward
