Dublin would be a lovely spot if it wasn't for the ignorant half - witted dubs who do not even know their own City. Half of them might only cross the liffey once or twice a year

Now f*ck off, I've a busy morning planned after feeding my ten little miracles their morning dose of heroin. Then it's to prey on deh foreigners. Might nick a taxi. Dunno, ingestin' hand sanitiser does weird things to ya.

    Sure does.....

    So does being inbred.

There are more chips in this thread than in burdocks and beshoffs combined.

So, today I just left two Londoners (ones English, the other Italian) back to the airport after a four day trip to Dublin. They stayed in a central low price hotel, did the hop on - hop off bus.

They did all the museums, most of the galleries and a good few restaurant lunch deals and early bird deals. Loved the value and very very surprised and impressed with the food quality.

They had overpriced pints in Temple Bar and loved the atmosphere and music (not much of a big spend when they only had four pints all night).

They visited Howth by DART and had fish tapas in a restaurant, did a bit of cliff walking and went on a boat trip around the bay and got me a load of Dublin Bay Prawns! :) win.

She (waterbaby) did kitesurfing lessons in Sutton and got results. I think she had previous experience. Lesson went over the allotted time. He's into his historical buildings and was in his element in the city centre.

They spent a few hours knocking around the South William st. area and found it expensive, but worth it (cocktails, wine and nibbles).

They did Kilmainham Gaol and were blown away.

Both of them were very very impressed by everything, they had a ball and were pretty taken aback by the level of service everywhere. Their hotel, shops, restaurants, bars, museums, galleries... They told me their interaction with locals (Dubs, and non Dubs) was either hilarious or pleasant, never bad. They are both marathon runners and have already booked a week in October with advice (from me) to hit the West coast.

I know it's anecdotal, but it does back up the findings. I'd suggest anyone doubting the findings to do a city break in Dublin and experience the city properly.

    Last year:

    Kilkenny 9th
    Dublin 12th
    Cork 20th.

Well done to Dublin. Last year Kilkenny was the only European city in the top 10.
