My uncle has had digital TV installed by UPC. He has been given a Samsung SMT-G7400 set top box. When browsing through the manual I noticed that there were two usb ports on the back of the box. If not then why are the ports there? Do UPC plan to allow such features in the future?

Anything of possible use or interest is disabled.

I note that in the US, WD are selling drives that specifically set up to expand the capacity of your STB. Maybe some day in the future.
