    Is there a demographic breakdown of the Gaza Strip available? I feel sympathy for the people there but it's no wonder the areas in an economic and humanitarian mess if the population is 99% newborn babies

    IDF "investigating". i.e. seeing if they can come up with some lie or other to keep the Yanks sending ammo.

    PALESTINIANS accused Israel of breaking its own ceasefire on Monday by launching a bomb attack on a refugee camp in Gaza City that killed an eight-year-old girl and wounded 29 other people.

    Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf Al-Qidra said the strike on a house in Shati camp took place after the truce was scheduled to start on Monday morning.



    An Israeli military spokeswoman said she was checking the report.

    - From todays independent.. There never was any intention of a cease fire.
    And even worse in the same article:


    An Israeli defence official said the ceasefire, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (0700 to 1400 GMT), would apply everywhere but areas of the southern town of Rafah where ground forces have intensified assaults after three soldiers died in a Hamas ambush there on Friday.

    -same old sameo.. Its a cease fire if the other side stop. Israel apparently just stay doing what they do.

    It might be less of a mess if it wasn't under siege with semi-starvation rations and random bombing by Israel perhaps? Or is this another day old account dig at the Palestinian people we've come to know and love?

    I think at this stage Israel truly believe they are declaring Hamas ceasefires which don't apply to them.

    If Israel has any hope that this slaughter will end the threat of terrorism they are incredibly deluded. Even if they occupy all of Palestine, they have ensured that there will be an entire generation of people who will hate every fabric of their being. Funding and manpower will flow into groups like Hamas. It's like they are trying to re-enact the Irish plantations.

    If a ceasefire in Gaza precludes ceasing fire over the entirety of Gaza, then it's not a ceasefire. Israel, by continuing to justify fire on Rafah, means there was never a meaningful ceasefire in the first place.

    Not informing me as I know how a gun works. Perhaps in Yiddish it's always squeeze but the common English usage is to pull a trigger.

    I'm sure when the pilots got out of the Enola Gay, they gave her a good oul pat on her fuselage for a job well done. Still doesn't detract from the fact that they just dropped a nuclear device on a city.

    Hamas had been in isolation from the day it took control of Gaza because of its behavior. So, maybe Hamas wanted to emerge from this isolation and catch world’s attention but other means should have been adopted to do that. Leaders of Hamas are now under more scrutiny from their people.
    Hamas leaders are jet setters. They travel high class, stay at the best hotels and eat the best food but their people are not paid their salaries on time and what is worse is that they are always under constant pressure from Hamas rule and the Israeli missiles.
    And Hamas did not even think of building bomb shelters.
    So, is Hamas looking for more innocent Palestinian casualties to gain more sympathy from the outside world?

    I think you mean a rifle, not a gun (sniper's use rifles).. And you squeeze the trigger on a rifle ~ just for your info.. I don't speak Yiddish.
