At three years you got a good life out of the battery, you can buy replacement batteries from your laptop manufacturer for about €100. Cleaning up your laptop won't have any effect on the battery life though.
Is it still that expensive? Thought it was cheaper tbh. I think Amazon do them as well, maybe that's why :p

Just had a gander on Amazon & they are there for £20.

After forgetting I had a mug of tea made & now it is cold.

I got very annoyed last year when Dell wanted 120 for a replacement battery. Got one for 30 via Amazon and it went wallop after only 2 months.

They'd probably have taken it back, Amazon are great for refunds/replacements.

They're only compatible batteries, not the genuine manufacturer batteries at all. I try to tell people to stay well away from them but do they listen? Do they fcuk!

They're a bit like the cheap knock-off iPhones and Galaxy S5's coming in from China. They're cheap for a reason - because they're shìte.

Amazon advocate also. Never had any problems with anything I bought off them.

And wait for it....I ordered a replacement screen for my laptop off the interwebs and fixed it myself....saved myself an absolute fortune.
Computer fixy up shops here wanted a small fortune to fix it.

My husband keeps complaining about those tiny little fruit flies dive bombing his beer. He's on a weeks holiday and has been stressed out over the past few months, so instead of diy I decided that he should spend the week basically sat on his arse drinking beer and chilling out, not sure that was a good idea if I have to keep hearing about flies and beer :D

you can't rush into DIY jobs Pumpkin, they need to have a gameplan, I'm sure that is what hubbie is thinking about.

:D He's very good at getting the DIY done, I think he needs a break to chill out from stuff for a while. The DIY will keep for another time.

After working in one I have to agree.

"oh yeah, a 5.5 gigawatt flux capacitor will fix that right up, only costs 200 euro"

In my experience all they do is wipe the computer and install a new antivirus.

And then they charge you 150 euro. :(

They rely on the "shure, i know nuthin' about compooters" section of the market.

Reminds me of one of my trivial annoyances:

Programmers who look down on everyone else as "useless at computers" because they don't know how to code.

I DON'T HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO CODE TO FIX 99% OF COMPUTER PROBLEMS I ENCOUNTER!

Slice of lemon or a slice of lime in the beer and he's sorted. That's the real reason Mexicans started putting lime in Corona....or why there would be a slice of lemon in an ash tray abroad.

The joy I have on a near daily basis of telling developers how they are wrong gives an amazing sense of satisfaction.

On the other hand, people knowing that I know a thing or two about computer machines can be torture..."you wouldn't look at my dad's computer would ya Boom_Bizzle?"

Any sort of chatter or noise in the cinema coming from anywhere but the screen. It gives me The Rage.

That the newspaper stand turns into a mini library. You end up battling through a load of bodies to get one.
