    Incidentally, why ask for the CCTV footage to be kept? They're not usually wired for sound?

    The N plate is just a revenue collecting exercise. By bringing this in they have by default made it an offence not to display it. Penalty points acrue as well I suppose.

    Same as l plates are but not everyone displays them.
