I think people should spend some time on youtube and look at what the IDF are uncovering in Gaza. There is a video of the IDF entering a Mosque and a school and deep down in the basement is an arsenal worthy of any 3rd World War Lord. And then theres the tunnels. All that cement and building materials have literally gone underground. I have never seen anything like the warren of terror tunnels Hamas have created.

I for one completely support Israel and the IDF in what they are doing. We look at the pictures on Sky News of the horrors perpetrated by ISIS in Syria and Iraq..yet these guys aren't a million miles away from Hamas in their ideology.

Wow that's actually quite extraordinary. Even a country with their human rights abuse and propped up by the US Military finds it difficult to stomach.Mind you it's more likely that it's because they fear Israel's action is going to destabilize them.

Ask yourself why are they firing rockets at Israel? Its not because they dont like the colour of there flag. So most schools are ran by the UN are you going to tell me the UN supports Hamas, if their was guarantee the the Israelis didn't plant it too get people on their side but I find it hard to believe.

The shallowness of the Israeli argument seems to be parallel to the American one when the Iraqi insurgency took off. It's not that they're fighting a foreign invader or resisting heavy-handed military rule, it's that "they hate our freedoms" and they're motivated solely by religious fanaticism. Therefore, there's no need to examine these groups in depth or to bother with peaceful resolutions when you think they're not tied to a particular context.

The sad thing is, these approaches to insurgencies have only brought about 'peace' when the insurgents and their supporters have been brutally wiped out (Sri Lanka, Algeria, etc) or when the insurgents themselves became overtly too powerful to defeat and forced their opponents to the negotiating table.
