btea and grant

Hi, my son is going back to college in september after spending the last 12mnths on jsa. He is 22 and still living at home. Does he apply for btea? I believe he can't get a grant as it's a repeat of a level 5 he dropped out of when first out of school. And how soon can he apply for btea as he can't afford to wait to long without money.

Hi he must get the form through the social welfare office .fill out the form and attach the college acceptance form with the application,and submit to social.They are doing Interviews this year for Btea as far as I know.when he registers in sept.get a letter from the college and give this to the social welfare he will then get btea .Also look up vtos on the internet,this is done through the colleges and it might be better for him,all the best for the future.
