    Hey All,

For the first time since my early twenties I find myself available to go on a golf holiday - most likely on my own. I want to go somewhere sunny, with good food and would like to be able to squeeze in at least one round per day. Recommendations with an approximate cost of play/accommodation etc would be appreciated. Looking at October kind of time frame

I reckon forget the sun and go play the great north links challange in Portrush, Portstewart and Ballyliffin in early october. trip will cost you less than 300.

If your not too concerned bout the price.

Look up Villamoura - means if you want to meet people at night you will - but golf more expensive. Golf is about 70 + euro a go.

If your more adventurious and want a cheaper option.
I'd say - go to a place that is not too touristy - rent a car a pick good course away from the big places like (Villamoura) - Spain is much cheaper for golf.

I guess you need to decide if you want beach and people too ? Or an away from it all.

When I was single I used to go to Villamoura on my own. I'd book my golf at a variety of courses and every day I'd be paired with other golfers to play. Golfers from Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Denmark, etc. Met a great variety of people and really enjoyed it. I remember people thinking I was mad going on my own, but any of my mates who golfed were married and couldn't go. I didn't get a car, free shuttle service to courses every day, or €10 for a taxi if I wanted.

You could also look at the Lisbon area - some great courses around Cascais and you are very close to the city if you want to vary the experience beyond golf.
