Actually your getting more sense out of it than me - this is what I get:

item No. Year Status Location Destination Country Date
    RC486586691CN 2014 Collection 51810302 IE 20140710 2042
    RC486586691CN 2014 Opening 51805300 IE 20140710 2345
    RC486586691CN 2014 Dispatching 51805300 IE 20140711 0822
    RC486586691CN 2014 Opening 51003100 IE 20140712 0817
    RC486586691CN 2014 Departure from outward office of exchange 51003100 IE 20140712 1104
    RC486586691CN 2014 NULL CAN IE 20140713 2138

When I click on the number it takes me to what I presume is China's post tracking page?

Or are you using a different page to enter the number? (what is it?)

From what you have paste in boards (for my tracking number) it looks like my package is on Air France? and maybe routed through Canada (CAN?)?

I also have a second number that I can never seem to get the mentioned page to track - RC685895493CN can you see it htere anything for this one as well?

    Thank a mill!

is the important number to me...

I find http://www.track-trace.com/post to be good for tracking. Also, use the number in http://track.anpost.ie/TrackOne.aspx - when the package arrives into Ireland, the tracking number becomes valid.

Status Departure from outward office of exchange
    Location 51003100 (which means Guangzhou)
    Date 20140712 1104 (12th July)

    Status NULL
Location CAN (which usually means Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport)
    Date 20140713 2138 (13th July)

So I'm thinking you ordered it on the 9th or 10th, and it'll sit in the airport for three weeks before getting sent to Ireland. As far as I can tell, the three weeks is so that enough cheap crap gets put together for a shipping crate, and your item gets loaded onto it. After three weeks, your item will arrive in Dublin, and arrive into your post office 3 or 4 days later.

    I order from dx.com quite a bit, but it's as Nody said;

Still well with in the norm; DX is a case of buy, forget about it, get surprised when the package arrives.

Also buy from geekbuying, and shipping can be just as slow.

Only problem left is the shipment was split. the tracking number for the second item/shipment is returning no info - is this unusual?

DX.com are having major issues with airlines not accepting packages with batteries. My order, an air mouse remote, was stuck in Malaysia for six weeks and was eventually returned to DX. I have been using DX for years and this is the first time anything has been sent via Malaysian airlines!

As has been said don't buy from DX and actually need to receive it!
