Memorabilia

Last night I saw Immortal Technique, and he signed my shirt. I was shaking, it was like a dream to be honest, the man is a hero. The t shirt is at home now hanging up until I get a glass frame for it so I can hang it on the wall. At this moment in time it's hands down the most important thing I own.

Do you have any cool memorabilia in your house? Do you think memorabilia is worth having at all?

I have WW2 medals and old maps and books form the 1800s. I have no idea who your man that signed the t shirt is and I'm not googling it just for the sake of it either.

Just because somebody is known today and signs something does not make it memorabilia.

Can't believe Immortal Technique is still on the go, as they say. I saw him about 5 years ago in Dublin when it was a mildly cool thing to do.

I used to collect stuff. Things that I thought were important but now I realize that material things just weigh you down. I've gotten rid of so much crap from my life and I never miss it.

I've only ever got 3 pairs of shoes at a time including a pair of running shoes. I only have as many clothes as i can fit into a 50L backpack with the shoes.

Coming from having about 30 pairs of shoes and not enough room in my bedroom for my clothes it's quite an achievement!

It's very liberating. It also stops me from spending money on crap that I don't need.

George Carlin has a great bit about 'stuff'.

Do you plan to wash it before framing?

I have a few autographed photos around the place, but no memorobilia as such.
Some are hanging up, some not -

    Gene Wilder
    Ray Harryhausen
Dick Van Dyke - Autographed book
    Michael Schumacher
    Fernando Alonso
    Jenson Button
Juan Pablo Montoya - a cap
All Korn Bandmembers - T-shirts and posters
Black Francis from Pixies - signed setlist

And a few other f1 drivers.

No, I wore it above another t shirt so it's fairly clean, regardless I don't want to risk ruining the autograph
