Can you explain what would be wrong with an investigation. Of course I would prefer an investigation of both sides but we already know Hamas are F****d up.

An investigation will take weeks/months. i.e, it's a cop out by the U.N to make it look like they are doing something.

As I had suspected, Ireland (and many other countries) want more immediate action...something that will actually save lives.

That was inexcusable and horrendous. I do no support that and I've no idea why they were targeted. But don't tar all of the IDF operations with the same brush.

Well can you understand how many more Palestinians are going to vote for Hamas after this?

Hamas launches rocket from a graveyard in Gaza. Attachment not found.
I imagine they have plenty of graveyards.

If the Israelis want peace why do they continue to build illegal settlements on Palestinian land?

Because when they mean peace, they mean extermination of the Palestinians

I'd rather the IDF fired a rocket back on the already dead than punish the innocent civilians.

I don't know much about the middle east but what Israel has been doing is evil. The images of the dead and injured makes me feel sick.

Probably, as does any other society
Majority of them facilitated by Israel no less

They obviously respect their dead just as much as they do their living. We can only imagine the outcry if Israel had bombed a cemetery.

We should defend our way of life to an extent that any attempt on it is crushed, so that any adversary will never make such an attempt in the future.

Jon Snow has argued with Israeli mouth pieces on air in the past, years ago one even tried to say that a BBC reporter was a member of Hamas spreading lies...

Yeah, I am sure the Western leaders will be in full outcry mode. Does a cemetery being destroyed trump a hospital or maybe a UN sheltered school for women and children?

I don't think their government are interested in peace.

Not only that but the siege continues on Gaza, 1 and a half million people been punished because they voted a certain way, no ports, airports, both borders are locked, they have nothing to live for. The Israelis are Hamas's biggest recruiter.

Anybody who is really interested in the conflict will already be well familiar with the propaganda tactics that Israel uses to shut down real debate.

Never any harm though to reiterate its techniques, as there seems to be a lot of people out there who are sucked in and brainwashed by them, either due to being gullible or through choice.

Came across something earlier on reading a news article referenced it so looked it up , have just spent the last few hours reading it a really interesting read - it's called "The Israel projects 2009 global language dictionary " not sure if youre aware of it or anyone else thought I would post this anyway. It's all about how to phrase and word arguments in Israeli favour a sort of diplomatic dictionary, one of the chapters on the Palestinians is really an eye opener. A standard theme throughout the document is how people when discussing the issues with the Palestinians must always show empathy to "both" sides it keeps coming up as if such a thing even needs saying. make sure you display empathy must display empathy it's odd. it's goes into great detail on all of the main issues facing Israel how to/not to approach them the settlement issues being the "toughest" issue that's faced and to justify. another recurring theme - blame Hamas for everything - no surprises there. now when I listen to Bibi, Regev et all speak think things will make more sense. It's an interesting read. chapter one is titled "25 ways for effective communication"

Actually yes they would, as they were in 2009 when a cemetery was bombed for the same reason. The point being, Those rockets are being fired from civilian areas, Hamas know damn well what the consequences will be, and still fire. Hell, 2 UNRWA schools were found with rockets hidden inside them the past few days.

Or perhaps you think Hamas are firing Coke fuelled by Mentos?

Yes I saw him interview the Israeli defense minister a few days ago and he pulled no punches. Basically called him a coward for refusing to negotiate and enter peace talks and questioning whether Israel were really interested in peace.

Anyone notice how there's never footage or images of the discovered rockets in schools etc. and any images of rockets being fired like the one in the graveyard could be from either today or 10 years ago...

Eh? Plenty of journalists in Gaza. C4 are biased; look at the amount of comments there saying "he's so unbiased", yet they all have 'FREE GAZA' avatars etc :D

Exactly. And don't forget that the last time this happened on this scale, journalists were not allowed anywhere near the conflict, were effectively sidelined, and were given written statements to read out provided by the Israelis.

The beach with 4 kids playing football had no rockets. The school with UN teachers today had no rockets so youre argument is pathetic. More Israelsplaining.

    Are you calling UNRWA liars?

    http://www.unrwa.org/newsroom/press-releases/unrwa-condemns-placement-rockets-second-time-one-its-schools

"Today, in the course of the regular inspection of its premises, UNRWA discovered rockets hidden in a vacant school in the Gaza Strip."

Remove that tin foil hat. There's a good lad.

The video was posted by a Palestinian supporter so naturally there are free gaza avatars. That does not mean C4 are biased. I'm sure there's a lot of zionists on fb posting with Jewish avatars too.

Why was Snows laptop practically destroyed by the IDF on re entry to Israel?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,547 ✭✭✭Fiery mutant

I'd rather neither was a target. But of course my opinion is that Hamas fires from these position because they know the Israelis will then target that area. I also wonder why the school was still populated when they were told by the Israelis last night to have the school cleared before 10am this morning, as that area would be targeted by Israeli forces between 10am and 2pm today.

We should defend our way of life to an extent that any attempt on it is crushed, so that any adversary will never make such an attempt in the future.

Yeah, killing innocent civilians is obviously wrong. By the way, who are Hamas' rockets targeted towards?

Innocent civilians? Ah... cool. More Hamasplaining.
