Photoshop elements 9 problem

I hope someone can help. I have photoshop elements 9 pre installed on my laptop and last night it stopped working and now all I get is a runtime error message when I log on. Any suggestions please.

I would but there is no back up disc im afraid as was already on the laptop as part of the package when I bought it ?

I suggest you download and install Photoshop CS2 since it's available from Adobe for free - has always been my daily photo editor.
