Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What parts of the world are considered the western world

I am wondering what part of the world is considered the western world and which one the east? Where would one draw the line on a world map?
What part would Africa and Central America be part of? Are they part of the western world?

It's not a physical description, it's a pretty vague socio-cultural one referring to 'developed' countries - primarily those who participate in the free trade model.
So it would not be possible to draw a dividing line. Africa and Central America would not generally be considered part of the Western World although there are individual countries in both that could be considered to be as such.
The earlier view is that the Western World refers to countries that adopted the cultures of Western Europe - primarily as a result of colonisation and the spread of Christianity.
