It only makes sense that you would train on the same surface you'll be playing on come match day.

Is there a unified type of pitch for the Premier League or can all clubs have their own variant?

    Players In:

    5 - Bebe £0, Anderson £0, Young £0 (loan paying 70% wages), Cleverley £5m, Zaha £7m

    Total spend - £37m

    Total income - £12m

Faith in CEO - 30% (+15% on last year)

Vermalen won't cost more than 8-10 m and Blind won't cost more than 10-12m.

Unless United are going to release Bebe and Anderson on a free and lose money by paying them off they will be sold for 4 or 5 m each. Also loaning out Young for free and paying about 70k a week of his wages makes no sense.

We will absolutely sign a central midfielder.

I'm hoping it is going to be Vidal, but at the least I expect us to sign De Jong - with Strootman then to be targeted in January.

I think so long as it meets UEFA regulations they'd be ok. That being said however I think the Premier League would take a dim view of any club who would try to build a 100% synthetic surface.

I know there's many pitches at the training ground, but you'd think they'd have started this work around the time the rumour LVG wanted this came out a few weeks ago. The 6 week period will mean the training ground won't be fully operational until September, but not that big of an inconvenience I suppose.

Was thinking if De jong/ Strootman & Vidal come in then thats defo Kagawa gone.

I expect to see at least one defender signed this week, the team is way too light at the back.

According to @guardian_sport, Bébé, Young, Zaha, Fellaini, Anderson, Cleverly, Nani will all be shown the door by Louis van Gaal #Untied

It will be interesting to see what way we line up in the friendlies, and might give an insight to what players may be surplus to requirements.

I don't think Cleverly, Fellaini or Nani will be sold. We don't have a lot of options in those positions, and would cost a fortune to replace those 3. Don't think Young will be going either. It would be nuts to ship out Zaha after one season when he didn't even play for the club.

Anderson and Bebe will be gone. Possibly Hernandez, if he feels he's not going to get enough game time for the season.

I'd be expecting one CB and one CM signed for the first team, and a backup LB and RB. Time to forget about playing Jones and Smalling at RB.

Anyone think Powell will get a chance this season? Or Lingard?

here is my stab at it...

im still keeping my original expectation that no big signings will come in this summer, but i am hoping to be wrong here as we need at least 2 of them.

The 3 players coming in is purely based on the fact that we simply have no choice due to the players leaving.

number of players in - 3 (Vermaelen - £12m, De Vrij - 13m and a low cost midfielder for about £10m, somebody like de Jong
number of players out - 3 (Bebe, Anderson, Young)
    total spend - £35m
    total income - £18m

i put Young in as a departure, but i think he is safe, i am doing it more out of hope, than actually believe it will happen, i fear however that it will be Nani.

perhaps we will get these 3 players above in before the season starts and then maybe that gives us 3 weeks to concentrate on a top signing. we are definitely signing 2 defenders, we really dont have any choice in that matter and ideally we will sign 3, but i cant see that being possible.

Don't think a deep central midfielder would have much of an impact on an attacking midfielder. LVG rated Kagawa very very highly from his time at Dortmund, so I expect he will get a chance at United under him.

I would say De Jong, Strootman, Vidal or whoever would have a great impact on the futures of Fellaini, Cleverley or Fletcher.

D'ya reckon you can sue your powers, FG, to force people out of the club as well?

We are not selling Anderson ;)

Where is the 18m income coming from? For the 3 lads you mentioned? LVG would have earned his wages if he gets 18m for them imo

Delighted Evra's gone, never liked him. Now if Welbeck and Young follow him out I will be very happy indeed

I'd prefer to see wellbeck sold, but just have a feeling the "local lad" might get one more chance.

He's young and an England international, any of the other teams would get stupid money for a player like that..

what do you mean one more chance? welbeck was one of the better performers last season and rarely let the club down

Evra has been class for us. Almost 400 games, five PL titles and a champions league.

When you think of Utd full backs you think of Evra, Neville and Irwin.

i would expect us to get £4m to £6million each for Ando and bebe, and about £8m for Young.

Not a hope Blind will go for 8m

How about £5? I could use a winger for my 5-a-side team.

    Actually, nevermind.

Seems Bebe has confirmed that he's off to Benfica. "I'm ready to have a great season with Benfica. My bags are already packed. I'm ready to lower my salary to leave. I just want to play."

Nobody is paying that money for Anderson, even Fiorentina didn't play him when he was there for free, why would anybody pay a fee for a player that hasn't done zilch in five years and who the club just want rid off?

He'll do a Macheda, he'll be released and then some club will give him a contract as a punt.

Bebe to Benfica is almost done and the rumored fee is around 2 Million Euro, which is around 1.5 Million pounds.

I think we can get more than 5 Million for Young. Downing was sold for more than 5 Million and some random player in Championship was sold for 11 Million. I'm sure there are midtable teams who can pay upto 10 Million, problem is wages.

Not that anyone believed it anyway, but Klopp has come out today confirming that Hummels will be staying with 100% certainty with Dortmund for next season.

He also mentioned that for the rumoured 20 mil. fee they would maybe sell one of their reserve team defenders, but certainly not Hummels.

I just hope Bebe doesn't turn into another Forlan! I hope united have some buyback and future transfer clauses written into the contract.

It's a reflection of the absolute madness that is going on with transfers this Summer that you don't think that two players coming in for 29 and 27 million respectively can't be classed as "big signings".
I get where you are coming from mind and it is relative to what the club actually needs.

My mate posted a tweet from Mark Ogden saying United are in advanced talked with Juventus over Vidal signing.. I can't find the tweet now.. but i've attached a screen shot of it.

    I hear he's a reliable source ?

But why would he delete the tweet ?
