we are always linked with them, just rarely deliver them!

i think Chelsea, City, Barcelonas and Reals big spending is now done for the year, so that means surely that any remaining targets can be got it we really really go for them unless Bayern want them.

Ah I know yeah, linked with big names each season, but for me personally, it's the first time I think it could happen..

If I was asked to choose a CB and CM for United, Hummels & Vidal would be my choice, of course we could end up with neither but I do feel better at the moment about these kind of transfers..

As Woodie said yesterday. Last year, Utd signed about 1% of the players linked to the club. That figure wouldn't vary much year to year.

The updated version of Fergie's autobiography is out on Oct. 23.It'll be interesting to see what the take on the Moyes debacle will be.

these Hummels stories are coming from Jamie Jackson who , when he said last week we werent going for Vidal, was castigated and slammed in every form of social media possible.

today, when the story is positive, his word is taken as gospel which just sums up the fickleness thats linked to transfer season.

every year, we are linked with no more than 7 or 8 actual targets and i mean proper links, not bulls*it stories in rags such as the sun or tribalsport.

this year is no different, to use the media as some form of excuse for our failures is nonsense, we didnt sign these players last summer for multiple reasons and the clubs ineptness was one of those.

So u think after failing to sign big names after winning titles, that Man Utd will sign big names without CL football. Dream on.

link? I didn't notice him tweeting/writing anything about it but could be wrong.

My bad, there's so much bull online that it's hard to pin down any source but the whole thing sounds off -€20 million for Hummels?? Dortmund would laugh at us.One journo was named as the source but is on hols so I assumed it was Jackson.

In other transfer gossip,Cavani has failed to appear for pre-season at PSG,expect the rumour mill to go into overdrive.

    And we have this:

    @MChiavaroli7
    Follow
Manchester United, Vidal à tout prix. Les Red Devils préparent une offre de 54 M€ pour recruter le Chilien. #Mercato

The Hummels story originates in Spain, not a Jackson exclusive.

    What are you talking about?

CL football is cop out excuse used for the papers.

A player isnt going to pick Liverpool over Man UTD just because of an extra 6/8 matches with 2/3 of them being played off down in ukraine.

Or the small chance to play Barca or mardrid twice.

They could join the biggest team in England and definetely play against man city, chelsea, liverpool, arsenal twice, all argueably greater matches that a Cl match.

the vast majority of rumours this year appear to be coming from clubs and agents, giving me the impression that if we really wanted to sign some big players, we could.

or of course we are being used for better contracts, though Kross ended up leaving bayern anyway for instance.

I am very happy with Liverpool's signings so far. Predicting us to replace them in the top 4, still a bit wary for some reason.

I thought Liverpool fans would be too busy celebrating signing Reus, Pogba, Vidal, Varane, Griezmann and Isco with Messi on his way also as part of the Suarez deal

I love it when a rival supporter comes in here proclaiming his team as the better team after 1 season and how we are doomed.

Liverpool 6th next year? back to normal after louis has left

Half the Suarez/Borini money spent on 2 players from Southampton.

While we spent 30mill on one player from Southampton. The end of next season will decide who made the better deals IMO.

On an 18 year old widely regarded to be the next great LB. Comparing Shaw's fee to Lalalalalalana or Lambert/Lovern is daft. Shaw is a high price, but understandable. Lovern and Adz were a joke.

    Longevity + Resale Value = 30m.

It's normally the other way around on this thread.

When a positive story is posted, pinch of salt, twitter bull**** etc etc.

The some 7 year old tweets from his Dad's ipad that Vidal is staying at Juve and tables get flipped.
