To actually drink it, I like mojitos.

Blowjob is my favourite to order because I just love going up to a hot spanish, or bulgarian barmaid and saying "Can I have a blowjob please?" then giggling like a little pervert teenager.

Love mojitos, whiskey sours are good too. A nice martini the odd time, margharitas...it'd be like Sophie's Choice trying to pick a favourite.

Bloody Marys have a special place in my heart though. They're all like "ah I know you overdid it last night, ah come here you poor thing, you feel awful don't you, c'mere til I make it better, sssshhh"

Had a very good bloody Mary a few weeks ago in an excellent cocktail bar in Portugal.

    Very good.

My favourite cocktail is Guinness with a dash of blackcurrant.

Oh this is tough. There are so many lovely cocktails out there, which makes it all the more crushing when you order one you've never had before and then realise you don't like it.

I got a pomegranate and chilli flavoured one in Cork once. Even came with a red chilli pepper in the glass. I felt very fancy! :p
Also had a lovely one in a bar in England that was served in a jam jar and tasted just like bramley apple pie.
Caipirinhas and Blue Lagoons are good too.

But I think my favourite has to be the common or garden Long Island Iced Tea. So much alcohol but yet so refreshing and easy to drink! :D

Damn, I really want cocktails now. Sadly my current lack of money or social life makes that rather difficult.

Black Russian with Tia Maria and not with Kalueah.
It has a certain pleasant taste without making you feel sozzled after one.

Mojito as well - the properly made one, not the pre-made muck they serve in a lot of bars. There is a place in Temple Bar - done up like a garage, sawdust on the ground etc., - that does one of the nicest mojitos I have ever had!

I also like a Strawberry Daiquiri.

I still say that absinthe would be the Valeyard's favourite drink. That said, i do enjoy a mojito. Pina Coladas are my favourite though.

Any one have any thoughts on why cocktails are so expensive in Ireland? In other countries I could maybe understand the premium as you get half a glass of spirits. In Ireland they hold the alcohol close to it and give it a little shake and if a few drops find their way into the glass you're lucky. So why so expensive? Is it the skill and time involved that it takes to make one? "What... You want me to pour more than two types of liquid into a glass..? What am I, a ****ing chemist? Oh OK then... 8 euro please..."

And various other thoughts along these lines.

The total amount of alcohol in them would come to more than one shot, most would have a combined total of two shots, I'd say. So they're in line with the rest of the ridiculously overpriced alcohol in this country.

If you're getting cocktails some place with barely any alcohol in them, I'd suggest stop buying them there.

All cocktails in Ireland tend to come with minimal alcohol content comparative to other countries but with highly inflated prices from what I can tell. Many often contain one standard shot. It's not a matter of a couple of places stiffing people, so just avoid those handful. It's the norm.

More power to them, whatever you can get away with if people are willing to pay as far as I'm concerned. Just wondering if there was a justifiable reason?
