Beavertown Gamma Ray : really lovely IPA.

Mikkeller Hop Burn : wasn't as hoppy as I was expecting. But very bitter and plenty of hop going in.

Dungarvan Mine Head : I liked this and you would know its a Dungarvan beer straight away. I got a lovely toffee taste after the nice cascade hops kicked in.

Just saw on Twitter that Buried At Sea is on cask in Alfie Byrnes

Is it going to the other Galway bars? Thinking Brew Dock in particular

There's a litre can of Paulaner Oktoberfest waiting in the fridge, came with a litre glass. Shtoked.

    A 230 IBU IPA I brewed a while back. Wouldn't say it's 230 though. More like 100 maybe.

Have 220 odd litres of 5 month old lambic out in the shed. Might go out and dip it in a while to see how it's progressing.

schneider weisse tap 6 (aventinus): I've been looking out for this for a while (my off licence selection is far from brilliant), and it didn't disappoint.

Tiny rebel, the full nelson: a well rounded pale, very nice indeed.

Now having a tiny rebel hadouken: I don't think it lives up to its label claims (but sure I guess what does!)

Not often that I drink lager but I'm on the James Boag this evening. As lagers go, it's quite fruity and almost refreshing. Almost mind :)

Anyone tried urthel saisonniere? My beer knowledge doesn't extend too far beyond pale ales but I was well-impressed with this.

A friend's homebrew. Otherwise, Rebel's Big Hop Red. I'm not always a fan of red ales, but this was very pleasant, indeed.

With the weather the way it is (some of the time) I decided to try Founders Rübæus raspberry ale.

    It's... a bit yick.

    Youre crazy, Rubaeus is fantastic!

I dunno. It has a bit of a weird aftertaste. I like Delerium Red, although that's heavy on the cherries rather than raspberry.

    Dogfishhead/Wells DNA.

Too much carbonation and although the flavour is nice, it's quite weak.

ATG have some Odells IPA on draught to go on, cant wait

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,347 ✭✭✭✭Grayditch

I really have to try that on draught. The porter was so good when they had it on in the Black Sheep.

Really can't believe DFH put their name to it tbh. It's all very meh.

Looks like My Antonia's the nearest I'll get to Dogfishhead for a while, but at least that's a great beer!

You'd think a brewery of their caliber would at least make sure it was a quality beer!
