One thing I'm sure of is you don't need 3 or 4 weeks to decide whether you need Vidal, every team needs Vidal. I mean it's not like we could sign him and not find a place for him in the team

Fair enough if the club are sounding him out to see if he actually wants to play for United and it's not just a pay bump for him, but he seems like someone who gives his all no matter where he is so it shouldn't be a problem

I don't think they would have a problem with that. The issue I heard is that he wanted 130k......after tax. Which would be over 200k. That's a lot and I can understand Arsenal balking at that.

The fact that Rooney could take issue with it is what's important since we're talking about Scholes' ability to coach the team that Rooney plays on. And it doesn't matter if the points Scholes made were fair (I don't agree that they were, but that's not important). What matters is whether they were the best possible things to say to get the best performances out of Rooney.

A pundit's job is to objectively criticise players and their performances. A coach's job is to get the best performances out of the players. That will often involve being completely non-objective when speaking publicly about them. So there is a clear conflict of interest there.

There's no way it's done, we're looking at a seriously struggle for 4th with the players we have now, it would be idiotic on the clubs part to not use it's resources to make it an easier task

Worst case is we sign 2 or 3 Dutch players which wouldn't be the end of the world
