So I am planinng a trip to Portugal later in the year and I am just wondering if there are any concerns about bringing stuff through the airport. The main one being the laser distance measuring device? Should I bring that in hand luggage and explain it as I go through the checks?

The golf bag will be already checked through so I just want to make sure there is nothing in the bag that will cause problems and if there is anything that shouldnt be there, what would they be?

    Thanks a lot.

Just stick extra stuff in the golf bag. Presume you have a golf travel bag. The golf travel bag is normally big enuf to take extra stuff. I put extra stuff in there like golf shoes, balls, laser, even your wash bag etc. then take a carry on bag.! Job done!

Just booking mine there now, 23 kg is the limit. I'm putting my valuables in hand luggage though.

Thanks guys. The biggest confusion I had was in relation to the laser really. With all the talk of mobile / electronic devices at airports now, I was wondering if I should leave the laser in the golf bag or bring it in the hand luggage and tell them on the way through?

Someone else mentioned to me they had issues with golf balls also one time? Cant remember the details to be honest.

Yeah my plan would be to load up the golf bag with as much stuff as I can allright and then bring the hand luggage. Thank God for tour bags :-))

Just as a FYI . I travel with my clubs quiet a bit , tour bag loaded with stuff, balls shoes wet gear all add up in weight my bag is around 24-25kg all in when travelling . Do get a bit of bother sometimes for it being over the 20-23 kg airlines allow.

Don't go too mad , weight the bag before hand if you do . one low cost carrier flat out refused to take my bag at 24kg . I was willing to pay for the 4kg excess but they were having none of it .
