I want to start a "Things you did that you are ashamed of" thread, but worry that it wont be a success. Trivially annoyed :(

Oh, definitely do it! My posts alone would fill up the thread! :P

People in shops who walk really slowly and keep stopping, when there is no room to pass them, and then glare at you accusingly as if you're following them. Get over thyself ffs - even serial killers and perverts have standards.

I get so irrationally angry with those people. Or when you're walking on the footpath and you can't pass a group of people who are literally crawling along. I actually have to stop myself from decking them. It's like the inner hulk erupts inside me, trying to claw it's way out!!

THIS IS THE WORST THING IN THE WORLD!

Actually, it's joint worst with both:
    • People who do this in pairs and then stop dead out of nowhere in the middle of the street to talk about where they're going to walk next. Why are you walking at all if you don't know where you're going and pull over to the side if you need to stop for a chat!
    • People who walk two or three abreast, taking up the whole of the footpath, towards you, making no effort to move into single file to let you pass. What, you think I'm going to step out into the f*cking traffic, is it? WRONG.

I'm 6'1", not a giant, but still bigger than most people. I'm seriously tempted to just stop paying attention to these kinds of people and barrel right through them so they can go sprawling and have a little time to think about what they've done as they stare up at the sky.

I was considering buying shoulder pads and booshing those fcukers out of the way. It makes me soooo fcuking angry.

Probably a cheapo job, but try to hang a garment on a clothes line, and these thing "explode"....take yer fcikin eye out,

At first I thought it Mrs E taking sniper shots at me for hanging jeans the wrong way.

Is that usual behaviour in your house? :D
It's just that you seem remarkably calm about it. :p

Or 'things you did that you should be ashamed of, but you're not'.

Not so trivial but my fridge freezer is fcuked. It started making weird gurgling noises yesterday and then the stuff in the freezer started defrosting. We had to put all the frozen food in the manky old chest freezer that hasn't been switched on since Christmas, that or bin it all.

The fridge temp was showing anything from 2 degrees to 12 degrees this morning. Now I'm waiting for the repair guy tomorrow. At least I didn't do a big shop at the weekend or we'd have been screwed. It's 1 fricking major expense after another fricking major expense these days. A girl just can't seem to catch a break:(

    Which version is your favourite?

I love the Colin Firth version but Mr. Collins in the 2005 movie cracks me up every time.

I was thinking of the book! :)

Of the movie versions, my favourite would be the 2005 one, even though Keira Knightley is very overrated imo. I love Donald Sutherland and Brenda Blethyn. :)

She's good in it, but not the show stealer. I can't remember the name of the guy who played Mr Collins, but he was very good too.

    I think it's time for a rewatch. :)

I've never seen the bbc series, might check that out.

I love, love, love the book too. Years ago I had a chance to purchase a little hardcover Jane Austen book set (6 wee little books) for nearly next to nothing in a used book store. Lovely red covers on each book, a red silk ribbon for a bookmark, gold gilded pages. It was lovely. Well I hemmed and hawed over it for a bit and put it back on the shelf. Went back the next day to buy it and it was gone. :(

    Kicking myself ever since.

Brenda Blethyn was awesome in that movie.

This probably has been said before, but people using the word OF in place of the word HAVE. 'I would of taken that route...' etc. Just noticed it in two other threads. Drives me mad! ..... aah that feels better

It's great. I don't care for Mr. Bingley in that one but I love Mrs. Bennet.

That looks gorgeous, but does it not weigh a ton when you're trying to read in bed?

I haven't seen that one! Have you seen this?

I would totally go to an Austen resort :).

Spanish students. I have now just started pretending they don't exist as I walk through them all. I really don't understand how a swarm like them seem to pick out a location that is in the way and just stand there.

I don't understand how their language works either. They all seem to just constantly talk at each other at max volume with no one seeming to pause to listen or answer questions.

I found Anne Hathaways accent very distracting, it was hard to take her in the role. It's a decent movie, but not one for watching more than once.

I have been to Bath for the festival, did the walking tour, and I LOVED it! Go, and stay a few days. I could only get in one day, but I will go back.

I think I'll start a Jane Austen Book Club :)
