    Have you tried sauteed Crawfish?

Never understood that excuse at all. Man the fcuk up. Nothing a few painkillers couldn't sort out and if it's that bad, see the doc and get it sorted.

Your experience isn't the same as other women. Try the exhaustion of having it 3 months straight, doctors trying different medications but none working. It will stop and repeat again in a few weeks.

But that's an extreme case. In most cases it's not like that or can be easily fixed by going on the pill but a lot of women use it as an excuse. An over-used excuse at that!

In some countries they have paid menstrual leave!

My advice would be to lobby the government to get it.

I hope it is the good chocolate and not that Cadbury crap.

Do you have any proof most women suffer like you do? Honestly. Do you think extreme cases like yours are common?

No I don't but I don't think its fair to assume most women just use it as an excuse. It doesn't need to be as bad as mine to affect your work.

No I have not. I'm allergic to seafood

    I'm sorry I asked now!

It's not just regular blood either! There's lumps and stuff sometimes :D:D:D

I get a bad dose about every three to six months, pain bad enough to wake me up and keep me from sleeping for the whole night, make it very difficult to run or do anything physically strenuous etc. The pill helps a fair bit, but unfortunately makes me have terrible moodswings and stuff all month (I've tried several), so I just have to deal with a dozen or so days of very bad pain a year. There's no way I can work through it, any painkillers strong enough to help would have me doped up beyond usefulness anyway :( so I just stay home and smoke weed :D

Yes it's the dark Belgian kind or bacon chocolate bars by vosges.

Have you considered not smoking weed to see if it helps

Mine is pretty much non-stop at this stage in my life. I'm hoping menopause will kick in soon and I'll be done with it. :)

I never said 'most women'. Anyway, I'm not going to fight with you over it because I like you as a poster (most of the time). :p I'm just going to agree to disagree with you.

I must be incredibly luck as it doesn't really affect me at all.

It helps considerably actually, I'm far from the only person to use it for pain relief. It's a muscle relaxant like, it does wonders for cramps.

Ah its a good thing it doesn't. I offer a friendly shoulder for those that have any issues with it tho just in case you ever do

Pain relief is the one thing id definitely legalise it for.

Menopause is no fun at all, I'm only 41 and was shocked to find out a few months ago that I'm there already:(

I'm almost 53 and not sure if I am even there yet. I've only had issues with my periods. Haven't had the hot flashes they say will happen. There are times when I feel overly warm but I have always felt that. Comes in handy during the winter months. :)

I was having the hot flashes for years and thought it was part of a long term illness that I have. They're awful. Jesus it can be mortifying at times. The night sweats were bad but it's the hot flashes when you're out and about somewhere like the supermarket that are the worst, there's no hiding the sweating. I'd just lurk by the freezer cabinets trying to cool down:o:D

I'd mentioned it to my gp and he said I was too young, I had the clotting and flooding as well, but I mentioned it to his nurse when I was getting routine blood tests and she added the hormone level tests to the list. Given how low the levels were it must've been going on for a couple of years.
