No value in that...someone like peraud, jeannesson or roy to get into a break and just stay away....french riders do go all out on bastille day

This will be carnage... French riders to go absolute spazz while the GC fight should be incredible...conditions are supposed to be good all day which is great although wind will be a factor. I think breakaway will contain the winner...GC? Hmmmm it looks like it'll be Bertie, Porte and Nibbles but Valverde is due a good day too. I'm not gonna try to predict anything major just in case I jinx it but this stage should be savage.

    Nibali
Contador, he needs to make a move today. Over 4 minutes behind.

4 minutes behind Nibali? He doesn't need to make up 4 minutes.

Rolland could be a good bet today.

He does. But not 4 minutes.

I think it will be a GC stage winner today. Can't see past Contador.

Hopefully Talansky can do something but after his crashes he might not be fully fit.

Na same gap as always...Nibbles and Porte are his only concern...Gallopin will lose at least four minutes today

He's writing off his own chances....
Tomorrow, I'll try to take it easier because I'm not super, I don't have the same eggs as in the Giro.
Plus the peloton won't let him get away like they did yesterday.

Pinot is another one who should do good today

Gallopin only finished 11'44' down on Froome on this climb in 2012 so he may hang in there better then expected.

10-man breakaway are about 4 minutes up the road. They are on the first climb of the day. It's raining.

Thomas Voeckler (Team Europcar), Christophe Riblon (AG2R La Mondiale), Lieuwe Westra (Astana Pro Team), Amaël Moinard (BMC Racing Team), Markel Irizar Aranburu (Trek Factory Racing), Arnaud Gerard (Bretagne-Séché Environnement), Giovanni Visconti (Movistar Team), Peter Sagan (Cannondale), Joaquím Rodríguez Oliver (Team Katusha), and Jan Barta (Team NetApp-Endura).

I see Bertie doing a long range raid from the second last climb out. TS, BR and Bertie himself were all about an attack on the last climb. I think they are playing cards and will go earlier.

why were IAM leading the peloton when pineau was trying to escape??

I will be surprised if he doesn't try something on the second last climb,. A good 1500m+ of steep, steep hill, before going over the top. May try and gap a few before the descent to the final climb

There could be a lot of time limit victims today.

    Rodriguez
    That's a seriously strong break!

I cannot understand why Westra is pushing so hard.... I can see why Astana have him up there but he's gonna blow himself far too early.

    Tommy V is hurting

    Tommy V is hurting

Tommy V a shadow of his former self. His form has dropped dramatically since his 4th three years ago, when he stayed with the leaders on all the mountain stages.

Looking that way in terms of topping the GC anyway. edit, although this is Contador I'm talking about. I expect a stage win.

Contador 5 minutes behind the peloton.

    9 mins behind the breakaway.
