Sorry all, bit pushed for time tonight so I had no time to write my own preview this evening, but there's an excellent one as always from c-cycling here.

This will be carnage... French riders to go absolute spazz while the GC fight should be incredible...conditions are supposed to be good all day which is great although wind will be a factor. I think breakaway will contain the winner...GC? Hmmmm it looks like it'll be Bertie, Porte and Nibbles but Valverde is due a good day too. I'm not gonna try to predict anything major just in case I jinx it but this stage should be savage.

I think it will be a GC stage winner today. Can't see past Contador.

Hopefully Talansky can do something but after his crashes he might not be fully fit.

Tomorrow, I'll try to take it easier because I'm not super, I don't have the same eggs as in the Giro.

Plus the peloton won't let him get away like they did yesterday.

10-man breakaway are about 4 minutes up the road. They are on the first climb of the day. It's raining.

I will be surprised if he doesn't try something on the second last climb,. A good 1500m+ of steep, steep hill, before going over the top. May try and gap a few before the descent to the final climb

As someone has pointed out on CN, when you crash you either get back on after 30 or 40 seconds or abandon - not wait around for several minutes.

I can only assume is has a deep cut or something to his knee maybe. Strange.

Yes looked like a deep cut on his right (?) knee. Fell hard, jersey is filthy and shorts are ripped so I'd say he's very shook.
