What makes us special is how much we're convinced we're special.
    Bit like Liverpool fans.

If I remember my history from school, The Celts came over and committed genocide and replaced the original people here with red haired Celtic folk. Even though red hair is more of a Viking thing.

This I agree with. Especially the Americans. We are as "children" begging for approval at their skirts

    Yeah. "History" from school.

    That's exactly what happened.

I understand from recent news reports that Ireland is unique in having a special place in Garth Brooks' heart, though this has yet to be confirmed by independent cardiologists.

Something we English are eternally thankful for. A nation where 10% of the population buy tickets to see Garth Brooks? Stay classy, Ireland...

Being Irish at the moment seems to mean being a whingey baby who is "entitled" to a load of things but doesn't want to have to pay tax for these things. Also, acting like some minor financial hardship has put the entire population on the breadline whilst there are actually people starving to death around the world and we haven't cut our basic social welfare rates despite being in recession for 7 years.

We as a nation need a kick up the hole.

Oh and we put far too much stock in the constitution because of "DE RISING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". It's a flawed document that was suitable for the time but should either be scrapped entirely at this stage and/or edited heavily.
