You still have fate in the country ?

You expect people to genuinely lose faith in their country over a concert that was rightfully cancelled because it didn't obtain the correct licenses?

Garth Brooks fans are like some weird cult. Where do you people come from, 1990?

Only The Beatles and Elvis are mentioned in the same breath as Garth Brooks when it comes to Album sales and best selling solo artist...... I had a good idea that was the case, but I wiki'd it anyway to make sure..
My fingers are still crossed for the 400,000 ticket holders.... You may have thought it was going to be an Amazing show, but after all of this and if they go ahead I feel the shows will be out off this World(dam I wish I had a ticket now:()

Tell you what, wish into one and and shït into the other and see which one fills up first :)

Edit: Cienciano got there before me.

Noooo that can't be right.....they have the world series of baseball that only American teams play in so that must mean they are the world

Christ , I'm going to single this post out purely cause of your misguided anger towards your capital city !! No one died , a country & western singer has a hissy fit and tried to put pressure on so he can have his way.. Get over it , you called your capital a "kip" why? What would you think if I told you to go out and pick some mushrooms , you bogger!!!

I can't wait til next week so it's finally put to bed.

It's been said many times that Cork should be the real capital.

Same here. It's a truly marvellous name. I think they pronounce it Troyale with cheese in France.

Where did I say I expect people to lose faith in their country over a concert?

The poster mentioned something about still having faith in the country.

Mmm, let me see, they took medical cards from sick children.

If people has any hope of saving concerts, its nots going to happen, when they were willing to let sick children pay.

GB was always for the fans. There's an autobiography, The Garth Factor, any fan of his or anyone spouting crap saying he's greedy, should read this book. They will understand after reading this book that he was always about his fans.

DCC didnt grant two licences, why should 160,000 people miss out on a show they had a ticket for the past six months. Yeah, I understand the subject to licence bit. But you dont build peoples hopes up like that. Fix the problem after.

Its DCC that let the people down, not Garth Brooks.

Its DDC that let us down and

You'll have to forgive me if I don't read it but I could think of nothing worse to occupy my time with. Then again alot of the stuff I read would probably bore you to tears as well ;)

Why didn't Aiken fix the problems before they became a problem? You know, like the sensible thing to do rather than disappoint you and many other fans.

GB did not let his fans down. True fans and those who read his book will understand where he is coming from and will fully support him.

Of course he let his fans down. Support him if you must but be under no illusion that it's poor form on his behalf not doing the 3 gigs.

His 5 or nothing was down to fairness and equality for all who bought for his shows. He didn't let anyone down by treating people equally.

He's a singer of trite country songs who is refusing to fulfill hiscontract with 240,000 people who bought tickets to legal gigs, Anyone would think he had laid down his life for someone.

I don't understand this. Instead of having 160000 people disappointed he's treated them all equally and decided to disappoint the other 240000?

It's all a bit of a mess no doubt, and I feel for the fans who booked flights etc. but GB has compounded the problem IMO.

I agree our image is being dragged back to our pigs in the parlour days.(this is the first time I've heard this phrase but I'm going to rob it and use it always if you don't mind :pac:)

I just reckon that the people who caused this catastrophic image failure in the eyes of the world were the promoter and, to a slightly lesser extent, the perfomer.

I don't reckon the residents where being nimbys because that would imply they come up with an arbitrary rule on their own rather than calling the council to enforce the pre-arranged rules that had been agreed before.

Once, many many years ago, my
Sister begged for Garth Brookes tickets, so mum bought them for her as a surprise.
Sis and her mates went to the theatre or whatever that he was playing in, with cowboy hats etc, went to the ticket office a bit confused.

Mum had ordered Elkie brooks tickets by mistake :-)

She never had the heart to tell mum and they had to lie about how great he was ...

Michael Jackson has sold waaay more albums than Garth Brooks .

    Garth Brooks
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This article is about the performer. For his debut album, see Garth Brooks (album).

Troyal Garth Brooks (born February 7, 1962) is an American country music singer and songwriter. His eponymous first album was released in 1989 and peaked at number 2 in the US country album chart while climbing to number 13 on the Billboard 200 album chart. Brooks' integration of rock elements into his recordings and live performances earned him immense popularity. This progressive approach allowed him to dominate the country single and album charts while crossing over into the mainstream pop arena.[1]

Brooks broke records for both sales and concert attendance throughout the 1990s. As of 2013, his recordings continue to sell well and, according to Nielsen Soundscan, his albums sales up to May 2013 are 68,630,000,[2] which makes him the best-selling albums artist in the United States World in the SoundScan era (since 1991), a title held since 1991, well over 5 million ahead of his nearest rival, The Beatles.[3] According to RIAA he is the second best-selling solo albums artist in the United States World of all time behind Elvis Presley (overall third to the Beatles and Elvis Presley) with 128 million units sold.[4] Brooks is also one of the world's best-selling artists of all time, having sold more than 190 million records (albums, singles, and video).[5]

Brooks has released six albums that achieved diamond status in the United States, those being: Garth Brooks (10× platinum), No Fences (17× platinum), Ropin' the Wind (14× platinum), The Hits (10× platinum), Sevens (10× platinum) and Double Live (21× platinum).[6] Since 1989, Brooks has released 19 records in all, which include; 10 studio albums, 1 live album, 3 compilation albums, 3 Christmas albums and 3 box sets, along with 77 singles. He won several important awards in his career, including 2 Grammy Awards, 17 American Music Awards (including the "Artist of the '90s") and the RIAA Award as Best selling solo albums artist of the Century in the United States World.
