There's no doubt the State of Israel cares more about the lives of the Palestinians than Hamas do.

There's no doubt the State of Israel does not care anymore about the lives of the Palestinians than Hamas do

Palestinians are(...........), which is double standards.

    Bollocks.

Comparing immigration to armed colonialism? Very classy.

Pardon me, I should have said Muslim immigration and mass-immigration. Multiculturalism is being forced upon the British and they're being told to suck it up.

I know building settlements and immigration aren't comparable. I'll retract that statement.

Then why do they drop leaflets into Gaza prior to attacks: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/09/world/middleeast/by-phone-and-leaflet-israeli-attackers-warn-gazans.html?_r=0

they either don't, or do it just to look good, either way, its not because they care, because they don't

i don't know or care, but i'm right here, israel are a terrorist state who want to take gaza from its people whatever the cost, they will ignore international law and happily admit they will ignore it because they can get away with it, because all they need do is use some emotional blackmail (make out that those who want them held accountable or criticize their actions are jew hating natzis)

Respective military strength has nothing to do with it.

Intent has everything to do with it.

Hamas wish to kill Israelis - any Israelis...adults, children, palistinian Israelis, Jews, visiting tourists with every rocket. The fact that the rockets are aimless is just good fortune.

Israel wishes to kill Hamas fighters and disable rocket launch sites and equipment with every missile. It doesn't wish to kill innocent civilians. It avoids launch missiles where innocent casualties are likely. But innocent people (as ever in these circumstances) still get killed.

    It's all about intent.
Clarrification - Hamas want to kill Israelis - any Israelis. Israel wants to kill Hamas terrorists firing rockets into Israel. Crucial difference.

Intent is absolutely irrelevant. Intent doesn't save lives.

They're still killing people. If they really gave a ****, they would not be bombing densely populated areas.

But nah sure it's not that bad because they have the schoolyard excuse "I didn' mean it like".

well the fact they they're using precision weapons and still killing so many civilians indicated they must be meaning to kill people to me.

Lets hope there is an 8 page supplement in the Daily Mail tomorrow, cos that is the stuff that gets my juices goin. The North used to bore the tits off me and so does this conflict.

Talking about the fact that celebrities are a bigger story than gaza should not be a bigger story than gaza either.

Israelis are living in a propaganda bubble they are brainwashed I really fear an all out war leading to a genocide.

Newspapers do their best to put together articles that are relevant to the people who purchase those newspapers.

It makes sense that they'd go with the Garth Brooks fiasco since that is more relevant to the majority of people who are likely to buy their newspapers.

If you disagree, more power to you. I'd welcome you to take a stab and put together your own news feed (with modern technology, this would be very easy). You could host a website and decide what news is relevant to the people you are targeting and, if you are right, people would flock to your site. Sites like Fark / Slashdot / Digg / Reddit and endless more just aggregate news for like-minded individuals.

Or go the old fashioned route and print it yourself.

So,the isralies had some of their citizens murdered and as usual have to kill 10-20 palestinians for every 1 israelie they lost.

Operation Cast Lead back in 2008/2009, had a kill ratio of 109 Palestinians for 1 Israeli (109:1). And that's the kind of murderous efficiency, that would even put SS Einsatzgruppen units to shame. Proportionate response or simple blood lust? Personally I think the Math speaks for itself.

Why do I care less and less about this conflict?

I can't see it being sorted in my lifetime, the powers to be on both sides don't want lasting peace and the people suffer, rockets coming from one side and a big war hammer coming from the other...

That's all very through but as in the last few nights it has been the top news on RTE, which is a semi state company, Could the state broadcaster not get its priorities right in telling the real news that is happening in our world instead of leading with an another embarrassing fiasco story ?

Why does everybody still think that broadcasters and newspapers are there to show us 'da news'? They're not, their purpose is to sell advertising, plain and simple. So they will simply show what attracts the most viewers/readers.

And clearly in this country the whole Gareth Brooks debacle sells more advertising than the Middle East.

*also you could easily enough argue that Israeli's and Palestinians killing each other isn't exactly news, it'd be news if they stopped killing eachother

Ah that old chestnut, the results on the ground tell a different story. Israel have taken to targeting a charitable foundation for the disabled overnight killing two disabled women. More than 120 people slaughtered by munitions fired into one do the most densely populated places on earth.

Israel is a country run by Judeo Nazis and Palestinians have EVERY right to resist with whatever munitions that they have.

    BDS!!!

Palestinians are not an ethnic group. They are indistinguishable from Jordanians and other Arabs in the region. About 1.5 million Arabs live and work in Israel, the ones who don't embrace the Israeli state are being forcefully removed.

I was waiting for this bigoted sh*te to be espoused by someone or other. The Palestinians as a people exist. There are millions of them. They identify as Palestinian people, not Jordanians and not Egyptians. Not that I'm into genetics or any of that crap, but Palestinians are ethnically different from other Arabs in the Middle East and are the descendants of the original inhabitants of that area.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestinian_people

Secondly, what exactly is the Israeli "ethnicity"? Most Jews there are "indistinguishable" from other Ethiopians, Lithuanians, Russians and Americans. I could convert to Judaism tomorrow and be made an Israeli citizen as a result; in a few years I could find myself living in a plush illegal settlement furnished with stolen water in abundance and pumping my effluent into the Palestinian land below.

Your talk of which "ethnicity" belongs there is nonsense considering Israelis are a very recent mish-mash of a variety of different peoples.

People said that about northern Ireland too. (Well, except for the rocket bit).

I think the peace process in the north occurred because people were fed up with the fighting. Partied on both sides were losing support. The same is happening over there. Except Israeli right wingers, although a small minority, still have power in a coalition. Kinda like the way the unionists in the north did.
