I read everywhere but the bathroom is one of my peace places where I can get away from everything and just read. The bloody place is starting to look like a library......novels of many authors and genres, angling instruction books.....even a collection of "Uncle Johns Bathroom Reader" (really funny and interesting books by the way) books. I don't take my phone with me to the loo - just don't want the interruption :)

I can't poo comfortably unless I'm reading something. At times when there's no reading material in the bathroom, I read shampoo bottles.

this made me laugh a lot in a very public place on my own. I thought i was the only one! I could go into chemistry the amount of chemicals i know about!

Could never understand the practice. Spending long periods reading while on the throne with your pants around your ankles on an uncomfortable seat while breathing the fumes of your own crap is not my idea of peaceful. The medical profession frowns upon the practice as it confuses your bowel function apparently.

I read war and peace on the toilet (not in one sitting) it was what i called my bog book. Also read all of Stephen king and David Eddings books on there over the years. Nowadays it's boards, thethunderdome or twoplustwo for reading material :D

That's what I do :) I've started to find it difficult to find time to read. The bog's ther perfect opportunity :P

If I sit on the jacks for an extended period I get pins and needles in my legs, so no.

Female, and I do read on the loo. Only comic books, though.
I did try reading novels, but it just doesn't work for me. I tend not to stay long enough to get into any serious readings. So I have a stack of old comic books on the window sill in both our loos.

It's a bit of a family tradition, me and my brothers started bringing comic books to the loo. Then we started leaving them on the window sill, much to the annoyance of my mother. After a while, she had shelves fitted over the loo, to keep things tidy.
So now we've all long moved out, but guess what? That shelf is still there, and is still full of comic books.

No, I think it is disgusting, especially if someone takes a paper in with then and then bring it back out with them, and expect others to read it.
It hardly the most hygienic practice.

Years ago I started as a secretary, and got warned by my predecessor not to book any meetings for one of the solicitors 10.30-11am... I soon cottoned on why when my boss started walking past me carrying a newspaper. My next role, similar story but an afternoon slot.
