Lads fairly thick question but what's the best place to park near McHale for Sunday? Doesn't need to be free just close enough to walk it.

    Thanks!

As close as you can get and make sure she's faced for home!

Stand or "not stand" (its not technically a terrace) ?

Munster final was 35 for the stand I believe (but I may be wrong)

Section 108 row J. Pushed side ways I think a little? Used to be bang on center.

Like to see the fact that James Horan has mixed things up, hopefully things will go well for Aidan O Shea at centre half forward on this occasion.

If you're early enough there should be space in the industrial estates on the road beside the stadium, you could also try along the Moneen Road or near Mayo Movie World. Basically, if you see cars parked and there's space then you should be good to park.

Depending on whether you are going home via the N84 or by the N60/N17 it would be a good idea to park close enough to those roads and as has been noted above, turned and faced for home! Try and park so you don't have to cross the N60/N5 roundabout as it can be a serious bottleneck.

I'm a bit surprised to see Chris Barrett starting but I suppose he needs to get back into the frame sooner or later. Cunniffe is injured but I can see Kevin Keane making an appearance if Barrett starts to tire out. No surprises in the HBs. Would also have thought Jason Gibbons would get in ahead of Barry Moran but Horan is probably looking to keep him in reserve. Also no Alan Freeman? Horan is playing the long game on Sunday.

Yeah can't fathom out how Alan Freeman isn't starting, would have expected Jason Gibbons to get the nod ahead of Barry Moran. Suppose who knows how they're going in training and their relative recoveries post injury. Big call putting Chris Barrett in with so little match fitness.

Good to see Barrett and especially Barry Moran back.

The AOS at 11 experiment has not been great in the past, hopefully management have seen something that makes sense for this weekend.
It would be good to get a settled half forward line.

Interesting that Freeman has been dropped for either Dillon or Moran, one of those guys would have been good impact subs, then again Freeman would make a good impact sub also.

I'm fairly sure Gibbons isn't long back from injury and Barry Moran is fitter so it isn't necessarily Horan favouring one over the other. Good to see Moran finally get a chance in a game like this.
We will find out if Aos stays at 11 but don't be surprised to see a shuffle.

Glad to see Barrett back, great replacement for Cunniffe.

I don't think Freeman deserves to be dropped, he's our best full forward.

DOC and COS being pulled is the correct call, their time will come but it won't be this season. I would leave Andy and especially Dillon in reserve, I'm surprised Horan is starting both. Adam Gallagher should be given a chance ahead of Dillon imo with Dillion replacing him in the last third.

Overall not the team most would have picked but we've seen worse Mayo teams.

Re Adam Gallagher I'v a horrible feeling we see the best of him off the bench against a big name team with time running out in Croke Park and the game gone.
Training is one thing, performance in games is QED. Gallagher has performed in games from play more consistently than others.
That's taking into account scores and passing. It was him that for example had quick hands for Jason Gibbons goal against Kildare. Just hoping he is on a bulkup regime (slim hope ;) ) and it is all some kind of long term play. i.e. Horan see's plenty football in him but see's him as a game winner if a stone heavier. Often you're held from games on such a regime. Yes that is the sound of the clutching of straws.

It's a mystery why he's out in the cold because after the first two league games he stood out, he even got MOTM on the Mayo Gaa Blog I'm sure.
Diarmuid O'Connor got a start in the first two Championship games without making any impact in the league and he's not bulked up either. Only Horan knows the reason for this..

surprised not to see Freezer....would have liked him to start. Surely Dillon wont spend the game in the corner...likes to roam in my opinion...will surely set up for a 2 man full forward line with AOS dropping back to help midfield against the two big Galway lads

Maybe because O'Connor and Horan are both from the same club.

    I'm just saying, like.

Diarmuid O'Connor needs another year of gym work. Lacks power and speed off the mark. James Mccarthy is the type of half back you need to be able to compete with. I had thought Mayo were the kind of setup now where everything was being looked at. Being physically at the level required should be the first thing that rules you in or out from match day panel. Until a player is physically ready should be purely on development path.
Against Kildare/Tyrone Gallagher was our stand out forward.
Had one bad game in the corner against Westmeath when those further outfield were scoring for fun and then Mayo went completely out of the game for a long spell. Against Kerry was an okay game for him as I remember.
Gallagher looked significantly more able for the tough stuff than Diarmuid OConnor, appeared faster anyways. This is no slight on Diarmuid OConnor he is after all just out of minor grade!!

Would you give over about Adam Gallagher, if he's good enough he'll get picked, same as everyone else. He missed the rest of the league games through injury and it's not as if he's the second coming of Brian Dooher or something.

Good to see Chris Barrett back in the starting 15. Hopefully he can replicate his form from last year for the remainder of the championship. Disappointing to see Freeman dropped and Gibbons not included. Real lack of mobility in that midfield two of Moran and SOS. AOS at number 11, hasn't worked before and can't see it working this time. Would loved to have seen Horan wield the axe on AOS, has been in and out of games, continuously carrying the ball into the tackle and generally been in sh**e form since the Donegal game last year.

Calm down, no need for the hyperbole. It's a discussion thread, there will be occasional discussion at times.

What could be good might be Kmc Aos Dillon Andy being out around half forward. Cillian n Doc inside. Don't think Doc been used too much recently in the corner. He'd be first to the ball with good ball sent to the corner. Turn n run at the defender. One of our quickest forwards. I like the idea of having that half forward line, 3 ball winners, 1 midfield support, 3 passing, 3 good tacklers. Experienced heads that could dominate.
