Shyness has more to do with fear, like fear of being in social situations. Like you might want to enjoy people's company etc., but you're afraid to do so.
Whereas, introversion is when you don't feel the need to be in a group of people, like being alone would bring happiness and calmness. An introverted person would probably feel drained after social interaction.0 -

Yeah I know the difference but 99% if times I'd imagine the two go hand-in-hand. I can't imagine there's many shy extroverts or many outgoing introverts 0 -

Assuming that everyone falls into one of only two categories is kinda restrictive like everyone has a unique combination of introvert and extrovert traits.
Like an outgoing introvert would probably be quite assertive and social and would have a longer be able to handle being social longer. A shy extrovert would be energised around people but more reserved and more susceptible to being socially awkward.
