So are you saying no matter who we sign, the team will be worse next year regardless?

Well I wouldn't quite go that far, but yeah more or less, realistically speaking at least. I highly doubt I'll be going into September thinking we can win the league - it will be likely that I will be hoping we can make the Champions League spots again.

It's impossible to replace the output Suarez provides, even just the presence of him on the pitch opens up so much space for others around him. I just can't see us scoring 100 league goals with him out.

Hypothetically-speaking we could so some amazing business, bring in Sanchez, manage to convince another top class player to join, fill the full back spots with players of real quality, but the above won't happen.

If we added Sanchez, Lovren, a top quality left-back, Shaquiri to what we have I'd start thinking we have what it takes to perhaps really challenge again, but even with that quality there will be times when we will really be feeling the loss of Suarez (for example a freekick 25 yards out)

Right then time to get Tevez's name out there.

Get tweeting all the top Jounro's on twitter and ask if it's true Liverpool are interested in Tevez.

Maybe someone in the club will these and think that's a good idea.

Falcao scored 28 of Atletico's 65 goals in the league. You could make a case he was more important to Atletico than Suarez was to Liverpool.

Yet they improved as a team after he left without actually signing another world class player to replace him.

Yet in the stadium we frequently berated his lack of a first touch and his inability to bring others into the game (while of course acknowledging that his finishing ability made these shortcomings in his game well worth putting up with). Did we, as Liverpool fans, ever question what Suarez brought to the team last year, in any aspect of his play?

Like I said Falcao is a very good number 9. Suarez is one of the players of his generation. There are nowhere near the same league. The season produced by Falcao at Atleti is nowhere near comparable to the freak season Suarez has just produced at Liverpool

Tevez will never be back in England, he hated the place.

Who should we buy so? There's no player out there as good as Suarez, it'll just be a downgrade no matter what happens

Dunno if it's been mentioned and it might be a bit out there but I would go with Tevez.

Kristian Walsh has already touted Tevez as a potential replacement

I think after the lose of Suarez, potential is not whats needed. a proven goalscorer is.

We already have one, his name is Daniel Sturridge. Which is more than Chelsea or Arsenal, for example, can claim tbh.

Could you explain?!? I don't see how us signing a one dimensional clogger is the same as highly rating an exciting young footballer who has shown good football intelligence...

We signed ac on the basis of one good season with Newcastle. You are rating sterling at 30 million based on 15 good games.

He's a bit of mercenary but that wouldn't put me off him.

    Tevez.

If there is a player out there with the same kind of workrate and will to win like Suarez it's him.

He is proven in the PL and CL league.

He brings baggage with him of course but like Suarez once he crosses that white line all he wants to do is win.

If I was buying a striker I would seriously consider a move for edin dzeko . I'm jealous the fact city can use him as a bench player . Would be an awesome signing .

They often get the "primary" aspect of their gear right only to ruin it with some random design (these designs are always significantly big too), case in point last season's 3rd kit. Their collars are another pet peeve of mine.

I would imagine there is method to there madness. They're a reasonably new company in the premiership. If they brought out a standard 'safe' type jersey, a lot of people wouldn't have even noticed the change from Adidas.
With these mad looking jerseys, people will get drawn towards it and intrigued as to who could have made or designed such an eye sore. All those pages like balls.ie and joe.ie always run articles about how rotten pools jerseys are when there released. To use a horrible cliche, there is no such thing as bad publicity.

I imagine as time goes on they'll tone it back and eventually get to a standard regular jersey.

Tevez won't sign because in his mind, Turin is closer to Argentina than Liverpool.

I think Warrior's home kits are great, my least favourite home kit I can remember was that Adidas monstrosity the year we won the Carling Cup, 2011 I think

That's way over the top in my opinion. Goals are the most decisive thing in football and in that respect Falcao was more imprtant to Atletico than Suarez to Liverpool.

Atletico found a way to be better, thanks to Simeone, without Falcao.

Rodgers, who is far more important to Liverpool than Suarez, will hopefully do the same.

Tevez is muck, I can't believe people see him as an option.

He has scored 20+ goals 5 of the last 8 season in two different leagues thats hardly muck to be honest winning the league with Utd, City and Juve in that time as well.

His workrate and will to win on the pitch is top notch.

Proven goal scorer yes, but Sturridge will get niggles and knocks throughout the season.
If you're losing the goals that Suarez soukd have brought to the side you have to at least reolace some of them. Either in 1 Individual signing or as looks the case on a spread of signings

City fan here, only player who can come close to replacing Suarez is Tevez, who IMO, is the best striker to ever play for city, better than Aguero, Dzecko etc etc.

As soon as Suarez was off he is the person who sprang to mind, he is a pain off the pitch but on it he is unreal. I would have him back in a heartbeat.

If you could get him the loss of Suarez barely be noticed with the other new additions too. Otherwise I think you might struggle for CL at this rate.

    Feckin barca.

It would break my heart to let him go but for £85m and £1 I'd take that offer.

Would hernandez from the mancs be worth a cheeky bid?

Link up play is crap, but knows where the onion bag is.

Hernandez can barely play his own position never mind multiple ones.

I've always thought he was overrated, and his form over the last 12-24 months has been rather poor.

Big, 'No', for me. I genuinely would prefer to just keep Borini, than to fork out for him.
