3 episodes in and I am wondering why I left it so long to watch this, visually stunning, some fantastic performances, I am seriously impressed!

Edit: just finished the final episode, as above I am seriously impressed, why isn't everyone shouting from the rooftops about this? Why hasn't it received awards and accolades?

Read that this was supposed to be an AMC show originally with Walton Goggins (Boyd Crowder of Justified) playing Daniel, for some reason it never came to fruition and ended up on the Sundance channel which is part of the AMC family, not surprised to see two producers from Breaking Bad on this so whatsoever.

Just watched all 6 episodes in a row...Wow...what a fantastic show...I dont normally like slow shows but this one is different. It has enough intrigue to make me want to see the next episode badly.

    Is he guilty?
Hmmm, I think he isn't. I think he just feels overwhelming guilt for not being able to save his girlfriend. Most likely one of the guys from the woods has a big involvement

When is this coming back? I binge watched over an evening last year. It was some of the most compulsive TV I've ever come across. Top notch stuff!

Tried the search but found nothing.

Season 2 is here and its keeping up the standard. Riveting (to me ) tv. Aden Young is mesmerising. Everything else about it is fantastic.

Teddy, the sister, the back story. The pacing, direction. Outstanding tv.

So, two episodes in to Season 2 and this is still very solid.

Still glacially slow but, oh, so intriguing.

Yes, no concession, straight on in, no catchup.

Hadn't realised Season 2 had started. I'm going to do a quick second viewing of season1 before starting.

Episode 3 doing the usual rounds. Excellent as always. Pity more people don"t watch this.

This is so the best thing on tv this summer.

My state-side cousins went on holiday.
Is this expected to air on our side of the Atlantic?

Season one was very special television. A very unique show, looking forward to seeing season two.

Just watched the first 2 eps in s02. Intelligent tv show, unfortunately a rarity these days. No doubt it will be cancelled.

Anyone else find themselves siding with Ted? Dont particularly like Daniel

You're definitely not meant to dislike Ted. This season's doing a good job of making him into a sympathetic figure, last season wasn't very good at that but I guess it was going for the twist there.

Really enjoying the show still, hasn't quite found it's footing in the way I thought it might this season, but it's making some very good strides toward it. Still seems to be figuring out who Daniel is exactly. Delighted to see it getting a little bit more of an audience (not that I thought it wouldn't, there's hardly anything on this summer!).

I can't figure out how it would occur to anyone to rent rims for a car...

Undoubtedly, but he's in a situation where he's working for his dad who doesn't even own the business and his step mom's, who owns the place, biological son that he basically doesn't know at all done that stuff. He's clutching at straws to try and generate some independence without tearing the family apart. Don't see what's that douchey about his actions this season; misguided, sure.

Four seasons would be plenty, hopes McKinnon sticks to that!

Third season seems a cert to me, Sundance need a few shows with critical support of their own to have a chance of getting anywhere, surely?

Also, no clue if anyone's seen it, but McKinnon and Walton Goggins (who was originally to play Daniel in this) won an academy award about 10 years ago for a short film. Watched it a while back and thought it was pretty good

Can see some people having issues with it, but that most recent episode had some outstanding stuff in it. Really looking forward to the season finale now.
The payoff scene for Tawney and Ted Jr's slow burn dissension was pretty great, fantastic job by both actors and written (imo) about as well as it could've been. Really like the direction they've taken with Ted Sr over the season too, he'd be absolutely justified in snapping and he surely will but they've somehow managed to make him walk the tightrope.

    Terric episode.
The scene with Tawney and Ted Jr was terrific - I thought it was going to get physical but, of course, the verbal violence was far worse.

The Prodigal son has returned, gottten the fatted calf and much, much more, and the good son has nothing…

    Should be a great finale.

Yeah man, just thinking of how
Clayne Crawford delivered those lines again is sending chills down my spine. Managing to be highly sympathetic and completely irredeemable at the same time, struggling to hold himself together for so long that he has no option but to release every ounce of hate in one go.

Clemens was great too, she plays the whole character very low key but she managed to get a pretty good balance between stoicism and being upset. Needed to be just right or Ted's outburst would've seemed a bit silly (as I've seen some reviews say, so it didn't work for everyone, I guess).

Next episode could finally see this show step into being the kind of show I've been hoping it'd become.

Watched the season 2 penultimate episode and it was a tremendous bit of tv. I know the slow pace of this show might frustrate some viewers but I think the standard of writing and acting far outweighs the pace.
What an episode ! Beautiful scenes between Tawney and Ted. It's a cast full of strong characters. I think the unpredictability of these characters is what sets this show aside. You can never tell what way they might react or what is really going on in their minds. I STILL haven't made my mind up about Daniel. I find myself pitying him and being suspicious of him in equal measures. That, I suppose is what makes it so watchable.
    Can't wait for the finale

Well, I just watched the finale and... jesus.
Imagine if the show wasnt renewed after that!
