Where did I say I wanted him to order dublin city council about?

I'm sure if the GAA was to offer them a good bit more than their houses are worth they would be interested. Isn't Croke Park in a working class area?

In hindsight having these concerts in Dublin was silly. The vast majority of ppl going are from the country. It should have been held down the country somewhere. The whole thing was badly thought out.

    Exactly.

And steamroller that's why croke park residents didn't want you on their road and why your not going to be seeing Gareth Brooks . You'll be sitting home with your CDs instead. OK?

Given how unreasonable they have proven to be over 8 concerts I think asking them to move house even for extra money over the worth would be fairly out there..

If your gonna use the central park show as the crux of your argument, you should mention it was free.

No problem, but if you're gonna mention that it was free, perhaps you should also mention that all the Central Park concerts are free and also, that of all the artists that headlined there, including Simon & Garfunkel, Diana Ross, Barbra Streisand, The Supremes, Bob Marley & The Wailers, Bon Jovi, Hendrix etc etc.. it was Garth Brooks that drew the largest crowd, almost reaching the one million mark, according to the official figures.

All their houses are in the slums.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,228 ✭✭✭mrsbyrne

All their houses are in the slums.

OK. So people who live in slums shouldn't have any rights then? Only people who live in big houses down the country like you?Have you ever actually been to Dublin?

All their houses are in the slums.

Does it take a lot of effort to be so wrong so often?

    To use the airport

    To use the airport

Does your town not have one? What a slum.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,243 ✭✭✭✭Jesus Wept

So what is going to be end game here?

Will we have 5 show, 3 shows or 0 shows?

    3 or 5, never 0. It's an obvious bluff.

    To use the airport

....and that's where you'll have to go to see GB. The slum people didn't want the likes of you ,and surprise surprise , your not going to Croke Park. Shock for you, but there you go, you badly needed that kick in your spoilt entitled snotty arse, so its all good, isn't it?

could potentially be zero as AFAIK there is in a lot of cases an insurance payout on all a run of shows being cancelled not some

otherwise it would come out of brookes pocket

International artists and their agents have a say in these sort of things, are you suggesting the organizers of this gig are some sort of side show bob outfit, that only have parish pump concerns.

    Could you clarify?

Are you saying international artists have a say in US law, Irish law or with DCC?

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

nothing was agreed, only the planning agreement matters, and that said 3 before applying for an events licence, which was done, they can have 6 or more next year if they want to as long as the events licence is granted, only a few took a stand, a lot more including residents wanted the concerts

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

Posturing by the Brooks camp to secure as big a payday as possible.

I think it would be awful for the fans he would be disappointing if he refused to do the gigs.

I'll tell you what was agreed, Mr Brooks agreed play in Croke Park, he has the opportunity to play 3 massive concerts and he's flat out refusing.

Wow I can't believe politicians are apparently trying to get involved from what I read (no longer living at home). If they're looking to tear up any croke park agreement this is the wrong one to start with.

If I was Mr Brooks, I would be talking to my lawyers, about recovering my expected losses from the clowns that organized this event before getting permission, and naming the GAA, and the incompetent clowns in the city council. Then prepare for the launch of his tour in some country that appreciate's his financial contribution to there economy.

If Brooks refuses to play the 3 allowed gigs he could be sued too

He's either been paid a deposit upfront or been paid fully in advance. Under his contract terms he only has to return any monies recieved if he himself cancels. Source: Events promoter, who says that most of the acts he has booked demand full payment upfront. Promoters insurance might cover it, if they had the good sense to take out a policy before selling tickets.
