delighted Colombia are out after watching the highlights on BBC, strange how Colombian fouls went unnoticed when watching live, that knee into the back of Neymar was shocking and it appears his vertebra is broken- it was worse than all the fouls (a lot) in the match put together!

Looks like Neymar is out for the rest of the tournament.

Brazil completely set the tone for that match themselves though. They went out with the intention of bringing intense physicality and it just got thrown back in their faces by the Colombians. Could very easily have been James getting taken off on a stretcher. There's irony in Neymar, the shining star of Brazil, being stretchered off instead. If the Brazilians had set out to play football instead of turning it into a kicking match, the kid probably wouldn't have suffered such an injury. Live by the sword and all that.

The highlights might not have shown it, but the Brazilians were much worse than the Colombians. They kicked lumps out of them and got away with it, it's pure bad luck that a Neymar got injured, but they were giving more than they got.

Neymar out of World Cup with fractured vertebrae.

I know I should feel bad for him but my Germany bet looks soooo much better now :o

Good match so far. A refreshing difference to the nonsense of last night. Both teams just playing nice football.

I made a bit of a booboo with the points for our comp. I added 50 points for each entrant that chose England leaving stage correctly instead of 200 points. I've amended now and it will show after tonights match.

Sorry, keith16, it doesn't help your situation at all :pac: On the bright side, nobody has selected total goal range the same as you so if you nail that, you'll win!

54 fouls committed, 30 by Brazil, 24 by Colombia, not a huge difference really. This kind of kicking and hacking goes on all the time in the Copa America which we don't see here in Europe.
Of course we all feel a little let down by Brazil when they aren't playing mouth watering football which is expected of them. Sadly football is all about winning now and it doesn't matter how you win which reminds me Robben and co are kicking off soon.

Can't beat the 60's - 70's vintage however. Pele, Zico, Socrates, Zeb.......was there a Zeb? There shoulda been, such great names and great footy"

I think it's one of the best World Cup finals I've seen in a long time.
I haven't had the time to watch this many games since the 1990 WC.

Some cracking goals and quality goalkeeping and some unexpectedly strong play from less favoured countries.
Hope it continues for the rest of the fortnight.

Will someone just score a goal? :(

The lack of attacking flair in the knock out stages is disappointing.

Over 90 mins Costa Rica unbeaten against Italy, Greece, Netherlands, Uruguay or England. That is impressive
